YES: Zohran Mamdani just released New York City's most comprehensive plan ever to reduce public school class sizes — investing $244 million to hire new teachers across 360 schools, plus $1.5 billion to build the classroom space to make it permanent.

While the Trump administration is dismantling the Department of Education and cutting federal funding for public schools, the mayor of New York City is going in the opposite direction. Smaller classes. More teachers. Real money for real buildings.

And a school-by-school plan that prioritizes students with the highest economic need first.

Here's what that actually means for real families: fewer kids competing for their teacher's attention. Teachers who aren't being asked to do the impossible in an overcrowded room. Schools that are finally getting the investment they were promised years ago and never received.

This didn't happen by accident. Mamdani inherited a $12 billion budget deficit and still found a way to put $244 million toward teachers and $1.5 billion toward school construction.

He released a 68-page compliance plan — not a press release, an actual plan — and backed it with real money.

New York City's kids deserve this. So does every child in America. This is what it looks like when someone actually shows up to govern.
