The Virgin Islands Department of Education’s State Office of Special Education is strengthening its Child Find efforts to identify, locate, and evaluate children ages 3–21 who may need special education services.

Parents and guardians in the St. Thomas/St. John District are encouraged to learn more about Child Find and the resources available to support every child’s opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.

On a positive note: It’s truly a blessing to have angels right here on Earth. ❤️ 😇

Today, I want to thank one of our The Butterfly Effect Inc. angels… someone I have never even met in person! She was sent our way by a Facebook follower and first reached out during our Prom Initiative. She blessed our students with tons of hygiene products and even sponsored the remaining items in one of our shopping carts.

When the uniform drive came around, she reached out again asking how she could help. We connected a little late but I told her about a family Zenaida referred to me with four children who were still missing some school necessities.

This angel SHOWED UP! She sent uniforms in abundance for all of the children, along with school supplies. She gave so generously that we now have additional supplies to share with other students who may need assistance. 🥹

When I tell you THIS is the fruit of COLLABORATION! When like minded people come together for the common good… GREAT THINGS HAPPEN.

Thank you Malika Lopez of Pass It Down and Zenaida for continuing to pour back into home through your mentor mentee program. It’s connections like these that truly make a difference. 🙏🏼

My first uniform drive and distribution was more than 10 years ago 😮‍💨 and I never imagined where this journey would lead me. None of this happens alone. It happens because of the angels around me. MY VILLAGE!

THIS is boots on the ground. THIS is showing up. THIS is a VILLAGE THAT CARES! ❤️

For the past few years, Malika adopted me and together we continued the mission of collecting and distributing uniform! 😉 but that butterfly grew her wings and her initiative is soaring! Please like and follow Pass It Down to stay up to date with what’s in store! Almost anything can be passed down. REUSE, RECYCLE and help someone else along the way. Malika has some wonderful things in the making for her initiative so if you have ideas or see a need in our community… reach out to her! 🙏🏼 she’s amazing!

Today, we'd like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Senator-at-Large Angel L. Bolques Jr., his dedicated team, and especially Judy Torres, for their unwavering advocacy on behalf of the St. Croix Animal Welfare Center. ❤️🐾

Thanks to their hard work and persistence in fighting for our organization, SCAWC has now received payment for the first three quarters of this fiscal year's funding from the Department of Agriculture.

These funds are essential to our mission as St. Croix's only open-admission animal shelter and animal control provider, helping us continue to care for thousands of homeless, neglected, and abandoned animals each year.

We are sincerely grateful to Senator Bolques, Judy Torres, and the entire team for listening to our concerns, championing our cause, and helping ensure these long-overdue funds were released. Your commitment, hard work, and advocacy have made a meaningful difference for the animals and the people who care for them every day.
