Women's Coalition of St. Croix To support and empower people impacted by violence. Before WCSC began, there was no place on St. Croix’s evolution.

Croix for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault to get help focused on the unique challenges they face. Our work began with volunteers offering support without judgment to r**e victims in crisis. The volunteer victim advocate program expanded to provide for victims of domestic violence in need of crisis intervention and safe emergency housing. The need for a safe space to offer a range

of supportive programs and services to victims and survivors helped shape the Women’s Coalition of St.

Sibling abuse is real, and we do not talk about it enough.

It grows in homes where favoritism is present, where one child is held up, and another is left feeling invisible. Where jealousy over success festers. Where resentment about who carries more weight in the family builds without anyone ever addressing it.

When domestic violence has already been modeled in that home, those tensions do not stay as bad feelings. They become patterns. Control. Intimidation. Emotional manipulation. Physical harm between people who share the same blood and the same history.

Children learn what they live. And some of them grow up and aim it at the person who reminds them most of everything they feel they were denied.

This is not just how your family is. It is a cycle. And it can be broken.

Children in foster care deserve safety, stability, and care. Not more trauma.

When children in the system continue to experience abuse, it is a failure of the adults and institutions responsible for them. Our representatives must prioritize child protection and hold accountable every person entrusted with a vulnerable child's well-being.

Today is National Nonprofit Day, and we are proud to be part of a community of organizations that show up for people when they need it most.

For over 45 years, the Women's Coalition of St. Croix has provided shelter, counseling, advocacy, and crisis support to survivors of violence right here on our island. None of it happens without the support of this community. Thank you for believing in the work.

Happy first day of school, St. Croix! Today everyone is on their best behavior. New outfits, fresh notebooks, big smiles.

But the first day is not always the full picture. As the weeks settle in and routines form, watch for the signs that something may be shifting for your child.

Bullying does not always look like pushing in a hallway anymore. It lives in group chats, comment sections, and DMs. Cyberbullying follows a child home, into their bedroom, and into the one place that should feel safe.

Over these first few days, pay attention. Is your child coming home quieter than usual? Anxious about going back? Suddenly guarded about their phone? Ask how things are going, not just academically but socially. And if they tell you something is wrong, believe them.

No child should dread going to school or logging on. Let's protect our kids inside and outside the classroom.
