Some of our children are not “bad.”
They’re not “disrespectful.”
They’re not “just acting out.”
They’re hurting… and nobody is asking why.
April is Child Abuse Prevention Month and this is bigger than a post.
This is about the child who got real quiet all of a sudden.
The one always in trouble at school.
The one smiling in public but struggling in private.
1 in 7 children experience abuse or neglect… and most suffer in silence.
In small communities like ours, this hits even closer to home.
Because most times…
they know the person hurting them.
So what do we do?
We don’t ignore it.
We don’t excuse it.
We don’t stay silent.
We:
See it — pay attention to the signs
Say it — create safe spaces to talk
Stop it — take action, protect our youth
This month, don’t just scroll.
Be the person a child feels safe enough to open up to.
