Salvage Life

Salvage Life is a nonprofit founded with the goal of inspiring others to remain active.

Mission: To inspire persons with or without disabilities to live a healthy life regardless of the circumstance. Vision: Promote a healthy, active lifestyle within the disabled population and create opportunities for adaptive athletes to compete. Goals: In the short term, provide adaptive sports clinics and education for the US Virgin Islands. Eventually, would like to prepare adaptive athletes for competition at the Paralympic level.

Here's an event for you all! Tomorrow night, February 9th, St. Croix Christian Church will be hosting the first ever Night to Shine prom event in the Virgin Islands. The event, sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation, is an opportunity for those with special needs to have a great night out, and they're still looking for guests interested in attending. We had a great time this week partnering with ComMotion for our first (of many to come) Adaptive Movement Workshop with the Marines and staff at Wounded Warrior Regiment. The mission of ComMotion is to build community and improve well being through adaptive and inclusive movement which is done through workshops like these. Both ComMotion and Salvage Life are Move United Sport member organizations hoping to bring more adaptive recreation resources to Eastern NC. Thank you Wounded Warrior Battalion for having us, and we look forward to seeing you again next year!

As we get ready for the holidays we are excited for what we're planning this upcoming year! More sports, more partnerships, and more opportunities are in the works, and none of this would be possible without the support of our community. Our goal this year is to raise $5,000 to begin developing adaptive athletes aspiring to compete in the 2028 Paralympics in Los Angeles, and we hope this Giving Tuesday that you continue to support us and our adaptive athletes!

We'd like to take a quick moment to thank Harbor Freight for their donation! As our adaptive cycling fleet is growing we now have the tools we need to do our own maintenance, and a functional (and good looking) place to keep them. Thanks again for your support!
