The mission of the Genealogical Society of Broward County is to foster and nurture an interest in genealogy by providing instruction, information, and inspiration, while encouraging Society Members and others in the development of family histories and genealogical records, for the benefit of future generations. The Genealogical Society of Broward County welcomes interest on all levels; from those

with an initial curiosity about family history, to those who are more advanced in their knowledge and documentation of ancestral records. Our program topics and presenters are chosen to guide further research and provide information on other resources for ancestral studies. We love to share experiences and knowledge as we learn from, and teach each other, valuable genealogical skills. We are extremely proud of our genealogical library which is housed at Nova Southeastern University's Alvin Sherman Library. The Genealogical Society of Broward County, Inc., has been in existence since 1967, becoming a non-profit organization in 1977. Our Motto: "We are here to help you find your ancestors."

Oral History for the Family Historian, GSBC's free virtual presentation is on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at 2pm EDT. In-Person GSBC Members and Guests may also attend the Genealogy Research Computer Lab beginning at 12 Noon. Both programs are open to everyone. Please see the links for more information, and Zoom registration. There is no pre-registration for In-Person participation. In-Person, we will help each other with our genealogy research, enjoy light refreshments, and watch the program together on a big screen.
