🎉📚 Birthday Books That Keep on Giving! 💙

Instead of birthday gifts for their children’s 3rd and 5th birthday parties, the Soni family asked friends and family to bring books to donate to Indy Book Project.

Their thoughtful idea resulted in an incredible 160 books collected! 📚🎉

The Soni family was excited to share their children’s love of reading with other children, turning birthday celebrations into an opportunity to give the gift of books.

Thank you, Soni family, for helping us put more books into the hands of children and for showing how a simple birthday request can make a big difference! ❤️📖

We join the world in remembering the incredible legacy of Dolly Parton and celebrating the countless ways she made our world a better place.

As a nonprofit committed to children's book access, we are especially grateful for the extraordinary impact of Dolly’s Imagination Library, which has gifted 332,411,218 books to children since its inception.

Dolly was a champion of children’s literacy and understood the transformative power of book ownership. She believed that the seeds of big dreams are often planted through the pages of a book.

Dolly once said:

“The seeds of these dreams are often found in books and the seeds you help plant in your community can grow across the world.”

Thank you, Dolly, for planting so many seeds of possibility, imagination, and hope in children around the world. Your legacy will continue to grow through every child who opens a book and dares to dream. 💗📚

We’re excited to be partnering with the The Salvation Army Angel Tree program again this year! 🎄📚

The Angel Tree program helps provide Christmas gifts to hundreds of families in the Indianapolis area each year, and we’re honored to play a small part in bringing some extra joy through the gift of books.

Last year, Indy Book Project gifted more than 5,400 books to Angel Tree. This year, we’re working to donate even more!

Last week, Kim and Kathy from Salvation Army picked up another 2,185 books to be enjoyed at Christmas. ❤️

We love knowing these books will bring smiles, spark imaginations, and become treasured gifts during the holiday season. We can’t wait to see how many more books we can share this year! 📚🎁✨

A big thank you to Thorpe Creek Elementary (HSE Schools), their Media Specialist Leslie, and our amazing volunteer Tina for making another summer book pickup possible! 📚
We were thrilled to find so many wonderful books among their discarded collection that will now be back in the hands of children across Central Indiana. Thank you for helping us share the joy of reading! 💙

We're excited to share that Indy Book Project recently donated 1,005 books to The Salvation Army Corps Community Center in Fort Wayne for their annual Tools for School event! 📚
This is our 2nd year supporting this wonderful event, and we're honored to help children start the school year with books of their own.

As team member Jennifer shared after last year's event, "This was such a highlight, and the children loved being able to pick out their very own book." We hope this year's book giveaway brings just as many smiles and inspires a lifelong love of reading! 💙

Every week, one of our dedicated volunteers delivers books to the patients and families at Eskenazi Pecar. 📚💙

One of the highlights of her visits is sharing the smiles and sweet moments she captures with the families we serve. Those photos are a wonderful reminder of the joy a book can bring when put into a child's hands.

🦁📚 Indy Book Project recently donated 600 books to the Plainfield Lions Club!

As they conduct preschool vision screenings throughout Hendricks County, every child gets to choose a book to take home. For many kids, picking out their own book is the best part of the day! 👓❤️

We're proud to support this wonderful partnership and help more children build their home libraries.

We enjoyed meeting so many wonderful fairgoers and sharing our mission of getting books into the hands of children across Central Indiana.
