Ever wonder where those new board books go? 📚 💗

For the past several years, we’ve partnered with Nurse-Family Partnership to provide new board books to families in our community.

Nurse-Family Partnership is a free, evidence-based home visiting program that pairs low-income, first-time pregnant individuals with a registered nurse. Through regular visits, nurses provide personalized support, education, and health guidance from early pregnancy through a child’s second birthday.

Below is Nurse Amber Love, who drives over 2 hours to pick up books every few months!

Boosting language and literacy in the early years is crucial to a child’s development and kindergarten readiness so we are proud to help start home libraries and help families build strong foundations for lifelong learning—one book at a time. 💛

📚Tomorrow is the sale!! 📚

We’re honored to share that Hachette Book Group is donating a portion of the proceeds from its annual $1 Book Sale to Indy Book Project!

🗓 Saturday, June 13
⏰ 9 AM–2 PM
📍 Lebanon

HBG will open the doors to its warehouse distribution center, offering a huge selection of books for children and adults—all for just $1 each. It’s the perfect chance to stock up on summer reading while helping support book access in our community.

The event also supports Raising Readers, Hachette’s global initiative encouraging families to spend just 10 minutes a day reading for fun to help build lifelong readers.

📖 Plus: A FREE Children’s Book Giveaway will take place from 8–9 AM before the sale begins. Preregistration is required to participate in the giveaway.

We love our partnership with Mental Health America of Boone County! 💙

Each month, they host a diaper giveaway for families in need, and now families can also choose children’s books to help fill their bookshelves and inspire a love of reading at home. 📚✨

Together, we’re supporting families with both essentials and opportunities to learn and grow.

📚🎉 FREE Children's Book Giveaway & Special Guest Appearance! 🎉📚

Our generous partner, Hachette Book Group (HBG), invites you to the Raising Readers Children's Book Giveaway on Saturday, June 13, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. at the HBG US Distribution Center (121 North Enterprise Boulevard, Lebanon, IN 46052).

As part of Raising Readers, HBG's global social impact campaign to combat the decline in children’s recreational reading, HBG will give away 1,300 FREE children's books for readers of all ages—from infants and toddlers to young adults.

⭐ Special Guest Alert! ⭐
Meet The Pigeon, the beloved star of Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! and other bestselling books by Mo Willems! Families will have the opportunity to enjoy a meet-and-greet and take photos with The Pigeon during the event.

📖 $1 Book Sale Following the Giveaway
After the giveaway, the HBG US Distribution Center will host its popular $1 Book Sale from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Please note:
• All minors must be accompanied by an adult.
• The $1 Book Sale is open to adults and children ages 12 and older.

📚 We were thrilled to support Virtual Prep Academy of Indiana with books for their end-of-year in-person event on May 15!

Katy Williams, principal of the academy, stopped by to pick up the books so students could head into summer with plenty of reading choices. We love helping young readers have access to books for the summer! ☀️📖
