With the continued growth of rabbit projects in Muskingum County, the Rabbit Committee is excited to announce sponsorship opportunities for the Bunny Barn this year!

Sponsorships will help support barn upkeep, Superior Skillathon T-Shirts, ambassador awards and fun youth activities throughout the week like Itty Bitty Bunny Showmanship and Barn-to-Barn scavenger hunt goodie bags.

Along with the sponsors listed below, a “Friends of the Bunny Barn” sponsorship will be available for amounts of $10-$20. This option is designed for individuals, families or clubs who want to help support the barn and its exhibitors.

We are incredibly thankful for the businesses, families, and community members who help make these opportunities possible for exhibitors in Muskingum County. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor, please contact us for more information!

Just a reminder:

Because Muskingum County Fair starts “later” this year, market rabbits should not be born before June 7th.
They should be 69 days or less in August 15th.
Please keep this in mind when communicating with potential breeders.
Thanks!

🌠 Before You Buy the Bunny:

While a bunny may seem like the perfect gift for your child this Easter, it’s important to know that they require much more care than you might expect. It’s estimated that 4 of 5 rabbits purchased as “Easter Pets” don’t survive long-term, often because families aren’t prepared for their needs.

Bunnies aren’t a temporary holiday surprise, they can live 8-12 years, requiring a proper, consistent diet, safe and clean housing with plenty of space, fresh water daily, and gentle handling and care.

Before bringing a bunny home, take time to learn about their care and consider if your family is ready for the responsibility. If not, there are still plenty of fun and meaningful ways to celebrate Easter… like stuffed animals, books, or chocolate treats!

What a week in the Muskingum County Jr. Fair Rabbit Barn!

We wrapped up a fun and successful fair filled with judging, showmanship, itty bitty bunny showmanship, team judging, a co****le tournament, and even our rabbit dress-up contest!

Though this year was tough because of the number of members we had in the barn, there is no more rewarding feeling than knowing we have a barn full of passionate kiddos.

Thank you to everyone who participated, helped, and supported—our barn wouldn’t be the same without you! 💙

Congrats to all of our exhibitors, from the youngest itty bitty showmen to the seniors who made it a week to remember. 🏅🐰

📸 Share your favorite memories from the barn below!! We’d love to see them!

⭐️Team Judging⭐️

This year we brought back team judging for the first time in over 10 years!

4-H and FFA members were asked to come up with a group of three people to judge and place 3 different breeds of rabbits based on their conformation and appearance in 12 minutes. Whichever team places the most accurately wins!

Our First Place Team was James McCandlish, Kadie Rush, and Ella Allen! 🥇

Our Second Place Team was Emily Rexroad, Breahna Rexroad, and Sydney Bollinger! 🥈

Special thanks to Zanesville FFA, Dalton Clark and Reagan Meiser for letting us use their bunnies for judging!🐇

Congratulations and good job everyone!
