History Galore! That is what you will say after attending this upcoming tour:
The Ager-Beswick Car Tour; Saturday, June 6th, 1-4 p.m. We will meet and form a carpool at the parking area where the Montague-Hornbrook and Ager Roads meet.
What will we see??
--Stage stops and stations from the 1800s
--Locations of stage robberies
--Historical home and ranch locations
--Evidence of the Pokegama Plateau logging and the famous log chute which ends at the Klamath River
--Beswick/Klamath Hot Springs Historic Resort and famous people that visited it
--And much more!!
Restroom facilities will be available courtesy of the Copco Area Community Center.
This is the first time we have tried this tour and expect it to be very popular. Its liability insurance is paid by the Siskiyou County Historical Society and we ask for a $5 donation to help cover its cost.
Hope to see you there! Your guides Mike and Kathy are excited about this tour!

Remember old-time radio programs? Well, the Historical Society found some as we have been going through the Pioneer Biographies in the research library to digitize them. While working with these files, some documents looking suspiciously like scripts popped up every once in awhile, and the reason they looked like scripts is because that is exactly what they are. They are from a series called, "Stories of Pacific Powerland," which were little 4-5 minute radio programs about people, events and businesses in the service areas of Pacific Power. Most were produced in 1961. We discovered that the archived recordings of many of these programs can be found on YouTube - just do a google search for "Stories of Pacific Powerland." If you are of a certain age, listening to these programs might transport you back to the days when we stretched out on the floor in front of those big giant radios waiting for our favorite programs to begin. We hope you 'll take a little time to listen and enjoy these, and maybe share them with the children in your family. Let them experience "entertainment" from the old days.
