💜💎 BEFORE I BUILT NINE HOMES, I HAD TO FIND MY WAY BACK TO LIFE.
THIS IS MY STORY. MY TESTIMONY. MY PURPOSE.
Many people see Love One's 2 Us Residential Communities today.
They see the homes. They see the growth. They see the businesswoman.
But what they don't always see is the journey of the woman behind it all.
DECEMBER 1, 2020.
A date that changed my life forever.
On that day, I was brutally stabbed 37 times by my ex-husband.
I survived something that could have taken my life. But surviving physically and learning how to live again emotionally were two very different journeys.
The trauma changed me.
The permanent scar on my face changed how I saw myself.
I stopped going outside. I stepped away from running my home care company. I stopped participating in family holidays and gatherings.
I withdrew from so much of the life I once knew.
I struggled with a deep, deep depression.
There were days when I didn't recognize the woman I had become.
BUT GOD! 🙏🏽💜
I don't say those two words lightly.
Because when I look back over my life, I know it was God's grace that carried me through.
Long before Love One's 2 Us opened its doors, I had the humbling experience of caring for my Grandad Raymond, my Mommy's daddy, who lived with dementia.
Caring for him taught me about patience, compassion, dignity, and the importance of making people feel loved and valued.
I didn't realize then how much those lessons would shape my future.
❤️ FEBRUARY 14, 2024 — VALENTINE'S DAY.
I opened the doors to my very first Love One's 2 Us shared living home.
ONE HOME.
One beginning. One vision. One purpose.
And something happened that I will NEVER take for granted.
I THOUGHT I WAS OPENING A HOME TO HELP CHANGE SOMEBODY ELSE'S LIFE.
I NEVER IMAGINED HOW MUCH THAT HOME WOULD HELP CHANGE MINE.
Through God's grace, my first shared living home became part of my journey out of depression.
It gave me purpose again.
It gave me a reason to reconnect with people.
It reminded me that I still had something meaningful to contribute to this world.
Little by little, I began finding my way back.
Not because the trauma disappeared.
Not because my scars went away.
But because I began realizing that what happened to me did not have to determine the rest of my life.
MY SCARS ARE PART OF MY STORY, BUT THEY DO NOT DEFINE MY FUTURE! 💜
And then something incredible happened.
WITHIN JUST 20 MONTHS, THAT ONE HOME GREW INTO NINE HOMES! 🏡💎
NINE HOMES!
But let me tell you something.
That growth did not come without challenges, sacrifices, difficult decisions, and lessons learned along the way.
I had to learn how to START a shared living business.
And more importantly, I had to learn how to OPERATE one.
Because opening a home and successfully managing a residential business are two completely different things.
YOU NEED MORE THAN A DREAM. YOU NEED KNOWLEDGE, PLANNING, SYSTEMS, AND PURPOSE.
