We are SO EXCITED to start getting ready for the 6th annual Neil Buzzacco Memorial Golf Outing on July 18th ⛳️ This has become one of our favorite days of the summer ♥️ All proceeds earned go directly to the Neil Buzzacco Memorial Fund and are used to provide financial support to local students and young adults studying or pursuing a career in a skilled trade 🔨. Please consider forming a 4-some for the outing, donating a basket for the raffle, donating $250 or more to be recognized as a “special donor” or purchasing a $50 hole sign. All details are in the attached flyer, and we are happy to answer any questions ⛳️ 🔨 ♥️

We lost our dad, the most important man in our lives, 6 years ago today. We still haven’t recovered; that hole is still big and wide open, which just speaks to how special he was in our lives. I think grief is one of the experiences we all have in common. That said, it is almost impossible to describe what we endured with this loss, due to an unknown and terrifying illness, during a global pandemic. He was taken so quickly and we were so desperate to keep him at the forefront of everyone’s mind. So we (really Carla) came up with this idea. Let’s keep saying his name, and let’s connect his name to even more GOOD than what he already left with us. We hope you’ll think of him today and be ready to read more about the GOOD we want to do this year with the NBMF. Another fav photo for us to enjoy 🕶️ ☀️ 💪 ♥️

Our dad was seriously THE most talented carpenter. I can think of so many things he BUILT for us to enjoy in our childhood home and in the first homes we bought. Two things make me smile the most:
1) When I was a kid I asked for a yo-yo. He made one out of wood and twine that absolutely did NOT work. But his first instinct was to always figure out if he could make something instead of buy it. I wish I had that yo-yo.
2) In our first home we had a sectional and recliner in the living room, with a very small awkward space in between that needed a table. Definitely couldn’t find one at the store that fit as perfectly as this one that he made. We were able to bring it with us to our new house, too.

This is the inspiration for the primary way we give back through the NBMF. We need more talented carpenters!

Thank you so much for following and liking our new page! Over the next few weeks we will tell you more about our Fund and our fundraising events.

NBMF is an official 501(c)3 non-profit organization and we are happy to provide documentation, including EIN #, for any donations received. Last year we partnered with Carpenters Local 171 in Youngstown to provide one of their apprentices with a financial award. We were so excited to meet him at our golf outing fundraiser in July!

Welcome to the Neil Buzzacco Memorial Fund page! My name is Amanda Armeni, and my sister, Carla Guarnieri, and I started this non-profit in memory of our dad, Neil Buzzacco. Neil was a dedicated husband, loving father and incredible Papa. He was a lifelong resident of Youngstown, Ohio and a trained carpenter, working in the Youngstown City Schools and sharing his talents with family and friends. This fund was established to provide financial support to Youngstown area high school students and young adults who are currently studying or planning a career in the skilled trades.
