Happy Saturday everyone! This sunshine has us full of spring fever, ready to shake off the cold & get out to see all of our Push family again.

We have had a busy winter, with Lance having major orthopedic surgery just 2 weeks ago. Recovery is going well, with our mascot pup Louis making sure he gets in all his physical therapy 😎

Spring will be here before we know it, and we are ready to make some 2022 racing plans! Hope you are all healthy & enjoying the sun today!

Peace & Adventures,
The Push Crew

Big news, PUSH family - your cofounders (Lance & Julia) got hitched over the weekend!

We had an amazing celebration completely surrounded by those we love. In lieu of wedding gifts, we requested any well wishes desired for us to go towards PUSH. Our loved ones, as always, showed up big!!

With our friends and family’s support, we were gifted enough to purchase another running chair! We will be looking at options for a child-sized chair for our tinier riders, and are open to any requests or needs from our riders/pushers.

We are overwhelmed with gratitude and ready to continue the journey!

THANK YOU to all of our wonderful supporters! 💚💜

Hey PUSH crew! We have been a little quiet lately, and will be for about another month. We have some
BIG events coming up within our family!

We will be up and racing again soon. In the meantime, feel free to reach out to any of us with any needs or ideas!

What a great morning getting to meet Shilo and Asher! We had lots of laughs and Danny horn-honks!

We were blown away by super-mom, Andrea Mae. There are some amazingly strong, beautiful souls in the world and she is most definitely one of them!

Have a great weekend, PUSH family!

What a great day!

We can’t thank you all enough for making this day and this dream come to light. Thank you to everyone who came out today, or who couldn’t make it but sent their love and support our way. We are blessed to have such amazing people surrounding us!

Special thanks today to:
Jeff Koenker & Matt Shaw for sharing their beautiful memories of Danny.
Scott Wise for hosting us at Roots!
Jason Strueble @ Sight & Sound for the audio set-up.
Shawn Sullivan & Charlie Cardinal
Our kids, family, friends & board members who made today possible.

We are ready!! See you at 11!

Tomorrow is the day: our PUSH Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to officially kick start this journey!

We will be at frog fountain in front of Bracken Library on BSU campus, 11am. Parking can be in the R5 College Business parking lot or behind Roots on university.

We will have shirts for sale ($20, cash or check at this time please) and postcards to share info. We will be saying a few words about our group, and invite you to check out the stroller. Our rider, Scott, will be singing the National Anthem with Janet interpreting (ASL) for our hearing impaired guests.

Those wanting to run with us are welcome - we will be jogging an approximate 5k course. Those wanting to head straight to roots to start eating are welcome as well! We will have tables reserved for our group.

Whether you’re running or just coming to check out the stroller and mingle, we can’t wait to see you all! 💜💚👊🏼

The last of our board - us!

Lance and I (Julia) Co-Founded PUSH at the end of 2020 after we discovered a mutual desire to give back to the sport we both love. With Lance having such great experiences pushing Danny in races, it was a perfect fit! We couldn’t wait to help others experience the same joy.

Lance is a Nurse Practitioner with the General and Vascular surgeons at IU Ball Hospital, and is our board President. He has competed in over 350 triathlons and 500 running races, and competed for Team USA at the World Championships in ‘95 and ‘96! He is a USA certified swim referee, and spent many years coaching as well.

Julia is a Registered Nurse at Central Indiana Orthopedics Surgery Center, and secretary of the PUSH board. She is a Boston-qualified marathoner, and completed a full Ironman triathlon in Louisville in 2017.

We both share a love of triathlon, adventure running, travel, nature, and are proud parents to 4 amazing boys!

We’re blown away by the outpouring of community support already for our group, and can’t wait to see what the future holds!

Meet Janet!

Janet McKibben is a mother of 4, and grandma of 9 (the infamous Gma J!). She is a semi-retired Medical Laboratory Scientist with over 49 years of lab experience, including 10 years in supervision and 4 years in QA.

She is an active volunteer with our local animal rescue (ARF). Janet enjoys hiking state parks, exploring Michigan’s upper peninsula, reading biographies of those she admires, gardening, and coffee with great friends.

“Through the years, I have seen how healthy involvement in sports can be, and this was especially brought home to me while observing my daughter (PUSH co-founder Julia) train for and complete her first Iron Man event. The joy of competing and the deep friendships and kindness of fellow athletes, especially in the running community, is the reason I want to be involved with PUSH. Any athlete of any ability deserves this experience, and PUSH is here to provide whatever is required in order to make it happen!” - Janet

We are lucky to have Janet on our team!

Meet Paul!

Dr. Paul Stewart, our board Vice-President, is a Butler University & IU School of Medicine grad. He is a general surgeon at IU-Ball Memorial Hospital since ‘98, living in Yorktown with his beautiful wife, Anne. They have two children.

Dr. Stewart is an avid runner, finishing 6 marathons, including the prestigious Boston Marathon! He has also pushed Danny in the Indy Mini twice.

“It was an awesome experience. I love the energy and encouragement from other runners. Danny had a horn that we gave him to alert other runners that we were approaching. I vividly remember seeing their face change from angry and annoyed when they first heard the horn to excited and happy when they saw Danny and realized what the noise was about.” - Paul

Keep an eye & ear out for that horn to announce the presence of the Danny stroller once again!
