I hear it all the time when renting traps… “I don’t think my cat will go in there” … “they’re all going to see the first cat get trapped and not want to go in themselves”… “he won’t get close to us, so he won’t go in a trap”…

Stop overthinking it, friends. 🥰 I took this photo this morning while trapping at a trailer park. I got 6 cats in a row. And each time a cat was trapped, the other cats would sniff around and be curious. I’d set the next trap, and get the next kitty, and so on… at one point we had 6 cats circling with the 1 tuxedo using it as his personal jungle gym. 😹

Granted, it’s not always this easy, BUT the most important part is the cats need to be HUNGRY. Other than the occasional elusive kitty, most of the time, it’s just that simple!

NOTE: For more savvy cats, I recommend “trap training” where you zip tie the trap open and get them used to feeding in there before actually setting the traps.

Happy Saturday! There’s nothing we love more than a TRIPLE ADOPTION!!! This family fell in love with Sangria, Spritz, and Bird! They’ve updated us that they are in love with them, and the kitties are settling in nicely! Sangria has found her favorite spot in her new Dad’s lap! Please consider adopting a duo or trio from our rescue!

We hate to share sad news on a Friday, but the kitty with a wound that we trapped the other night had to cross the rainbow bridge. Unfortunately, this sweet girl lovingly called “Buddy” by her caretaker was Felv+, had a grade 4/5 heart murmur, Upper Respiratory Infection, and that terrible wound on her back. She was very loved by her caretaker, and will be missed. Rest easy sweet girl 🪽🐈‍⬛🌈

As your cat ages, their testicles form and will gradually descend to their sc***um, the sac of skin designed to hold and protect them. This process of the testicles moving down into the sc***um occurs between 3 to 6 weeks of age.

Kittens that are neutered between the ages of 8 weeks to 6 months will have fewer postoperative complications due to the size and development of the reproductive organs.

Recovery times will be shorter, and cats will have a lower chance of displaying secondary hormone behaviors that occur around 5-6 months of age, such as:

Spraying

Marking

Attempting to escape for mating

Vocalizing

Fighting with others
