🌅 From Yorba Linda to Washington, D.C.! 🇺🇸

Yorba Linda Sunrise Rotary had the pleasure of welcoming Logan Thielen and his dad to our meeting this morning! We had so much fun hearing about Logan’s incredible Civics Bee journey and learning about the hard work, knowledge, and dedication that have brought him this far.

Now Logan is headed to Washington, D.C., to compete in the National Civics Bee! What an exciting accomplishment and a wonderful example of young people getting engaged in their communities and learning what it means to be an informed, active citizen.

Your friends at Yorba Linda Sunrise Rotary are cheering you on, Logan! Good luck in D.C. — we’re proud to have you representing our community! 🇺🇸👏

Last night, at the Yorba Linda City Council Meeting, Mayor Carlos Rodriguez included us in National Service Month Recognition!

Our Club President Cindy Heiben, Immediate Past President Anthony Johnson, and Past President Sean Phayakapong represented Yorba Linda Sunrise Rotary in honor of National Service Month.

Fun fact: Councilwoman Tara Campbell, Councilman Shivinder Singh, and Captain De Anne Wigginton are also Yorba Linda Sunrise Rotarians!

This recognition celebrates what Rotary is all about—Service Above Self, meaningful community connections, and dedicated members who continually step up to make Yorba Linda and our world a better place. 💙💛

🇺🇸 We Remember. We Honor. We Serve.

Today, we pause to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, the families forever changed, and the first responders and ordinary citizens who demonstrated extraordinary courage in our nation’s darkest hours.

Twenty-five years later, may we never forget not only the tragedy of that day, but the way Americans came together in the days that followed—with compassion, courage, kindness, and service to one another.

As Rotarians, we believe deeply in Service Above Self. Today, we honor their memory by continuing to serve, care for our neighbors, and strengthen the communities we call home.

Never forget. 🇺🇸

Did you know today is International Day of Charity!? ❤️🌎

It’s a day that celebrates something Rotarians know well: service doesn’t just change communities—it connects people. It brings together neighbors, businesses, friends, and organizations around a shared purpose and reminds us how much good can happen when people simply choose to help people.

We have a pretty exciting opportunity to do just that! 🚗💨

On Saturday, October 17, Yorba Linda Sunrise Rotary is hosting our 2nd Annual Gears & Gratitude, benefiting Olive Crest and the incredible young people they serve. Last year, together, we raised $60,000. This year, we’re dreaming even bigger with a goal of $100,000—helping furnish three Olive Crest housing units and supporting young adults through trade school, mentorship, employment opportunities, and pathways toward successful futures.

Come spend the afternoon with us at The Barn in Yorba Linda for classic cars, a live band, great food, an open hosted bar, auction, blackjack, slot car races, w**e pull—and most importantly, a whole lot of people coming together for a great cause. ❤️

Because when a community shows up for its young people, we’re doing more than raising money. We’re creating opportunity. We’re building relationships. We’re giving hope. That’s what service is all about!
