Summer may be in full swing, but we're already looking ahead to the Class of 2027!

This year, thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, Yelm Dollars for Scholars awarded $179,000 in scholarships—including $150,000 in Yelm Dollars for Scholars scholarships and $29,000 in preferred scholarships—supporting 97 students as they pursue college, trade school, and apprenticeship programs.

Now, it's time to start building next year's scholarship fund.

🎓 What an incredible year for Yelm Dollars for Scholars! 🎓

We are proud to announce that $179,000 in scholarships has been awarded to local students this year!

✨ $150,000 in Yelm Dollars for Scholars scholarships
✨ $29,000 in Preferred Scholarships

A total of 122 scholarships will support 97 outstanding students as they take the next step toward their futures through college, trade schools, and apprenticeship programs.

These scholarships are made possible through the generosity of our donors, sponsors, volunteers, and community supporters. Your investment in our students is helping open doors to new opportunities and brighter futures.

Members of the Yelm community and surrounding areas displayed their vast generosity during the 31st annual Yelm Dollars for Scholars (YDFS) live auction and dinner event on Saturday, March 14, inside of the Lake Lawrence Lodge.

The organization wished to extend its heartfelt gratitude to the Yelm community for showing up and showing out by raising $121,000 — at the live auction and in an online silent auction — for the graduating class of 2026 at Yelm High School. The funds raised will be provided to graduating students after an interview process and can be used for multiple post-high school options like attending a four-year university, a community college, trade school and more.

The event on Saturday, March 14, was deemed as a tremendous success by the organization, as over 225 community members attended the event. Additionally, Masonry Cafe catered dinner at the event, the 507 Taproom provided bar duties, DZines sponsored a photo booth and Panowicz Jewelers provided “bling” for the “bling-ring raffle.”
