Two leaders and two Cascadian groups hiked the Wilderness South Fork Tieton Trail in the Conrad Meadows area today and ended the hike at South Fork Falls. The fall colors were beautiful, the meadows were so peaceful, and the Falls were gorgeous! It was a long day, but definitely a worthwhile one!🤗🤗🤗

10-15-26 Ingalls Creek Trail, 4 miles, 700’ gain. Unbeatable fall day with brilliant yellows of The Star of today’s show, Big Leaf Maples. Someone had done great trail maintenance, and trip reports said that the first 9 miles of this trail are good and the final 5 to Ingalls Lake are impassable. The other Star today was beautiful Ingalls Creek itself.

Trail Report-10/13/26-A Tufor, Clara and Marion Lakes and Mission Peak.
WTA has descriptions and reports on both these routes but Clara and Marion is listed as Cora and Marion Lakes.
The plan-Hike to Clara and Marion Lakes and bushwhack to a point on the Mission Peak trail. The Actual-the climb to Mission Peak would have involved mostly steep, wet, and snow covered talus, so the Liberty/Beehive Rd offered a better option to the Mission Pk trailhead.
Clara and Marion are small tarn like lakes set in soon to be golden larches.
Mission Peak is a rocky point with 360 degree views.
Conditions:
Clara and Marion-the road is paved to the trailhead. It is located on the right across from a parking lot just before the entrance to Mission Ski Resort. Facilities were open at the maintenance shed by the chair lift. Trail in good shape.
Mission Peak-the road is all vehicles until 1.3 miles from the trailhead where a deep gash would bring a Dodge PowerWagon to its knees! The road gets progressively worse past that point. A small pull out provides parking, the trailhead is unmarked and there are no facilities. Trail in good shape but traction devices were very helpfull. Gaia for the day-10.0 miles, 2265'.

10-13-26 Bear Butte Road (or is it French-Bear Road?) on the south side of Rimrock Lake at the base of Bear Mountain (or is it Bear Creek Peak?) Clearly there is a confusion of names! 4.5 miles, 700’ gain. A perfect crisp sunny fall day. And the possibility of climbing the peak next time…

10-8-26 Eight Cascadians hiked 4.5 miles with 500 feet elevation gain on the Carlson Creek Loop trail in the West Fork of the Teanaway. The group hiked the Lower Big Sandy and Alternate trails to Split Rock, then down to the Carlson Tie and Carlson Canyon Trails. The maple trees were brilliant in the warm sunshine.
The parking area has been greatly enlarged with designated areas for horse trailers. Clean vault toilets. The trail signage is excellent. Everyone enjoyed a most gorgeous day.
