At Repair Cafe Yakima, our mission is to create a vibrant and sustainable community by promoting the culture of repair through events that we hold at The Yakima Makers Space the 3rd Saturday of every month, 10 am to 2 pm. We are a member of the international Repair Cafe organization. We believe in fostering environmental stewardship, resourcefulness, and community engag
ement. Our passionate volunteers & supporting businesses and organizations work together to achieve the following objectives:
Promoting Repair Culture: We aim to inspire individuals to embrace a repair culture by providing accessible volunteer repair services for a wide range of items, from electronics to clothing. Reducing Waste: Through repair and refurbishment, we contribute to the reduction of waste in our community. By extending the lifespan of products, we actively participate in the global movement towards a circular economy. Building a Sense of Community: Our Repair Cafe serves as a meeting place for people to come together, share skills, and connect. We believe that a strong sense of community is essential for creating positive change and fostering a sustainable future. Educating and Empowering: We are committed to educating individuals on the environmental impact of their consumer choices and empowering them with the skills to repair and maintain their possessions. Collaborating for Change: By collaborating with local businesses and organizations we strive to create a volunteer network that supports sustainable practices and environmental consciousness. Through our Repair Cafe, we envision a community where every individual is empowered to take an active role in reducing waste, fostering sustainability, and building connections that strengthen our shared commitment to a healthier planet. There is NO FEE for repair services.
