EXCITING NEWS! For the first time, we are taking our students age 14-19 to attend the Where U At? Urban Youth Conference from October 23-25 at Timber Wolf Lake. Registration is OPEN now! These retreat opportunities have the potential to change the lives of young people. Our goal is that 10 teens attend for this first year! Please pray for the teens who are considering signing up 🙏

What a special day!!! This year our Attic teens will get the honor of packing food for Hand2Hand once a month that will go elementary kids in Wyoming and Grandville. Teens giving back and building up our community. It’s special for our kids to imagine that the bag of food they carry might end up in the locker that they once had when they attended that school (that’s a beautitul idea isn’t? ❤️).
Today is was 407 bags of food 🥲.

At it again today!!! Thank you Julia Elyse Soto for sharing your story and your leadership with our students. We’re are truly blessed to have you on the team!!! Our student leaders also went deep into leadership studies and spiritual gift assessments hours after the Attic dismissed. Transformation often begins by learning about yourself. Two cool things!
#1 - We want to shout out to our supporters at Lombardo's Pizza-Wyoming. They’re good people. We had to drop in for a shout out 🍕. You should go pick up a pizza now.
#2 - We had our volunteer training today to get ready to swing the doors open for kids next week🔥! We took time to remember why this matters, we studied de-escalation and preparing to help when the room gets hot. We prayed and ended with communion ❤️.

We had a GREAT opening retreat for this year’s students for our launch out leadership training. For the next 9 months we will walking together into a journey of growth and impact. We started at the airport viewing area…envisioning where the journey will take them and us this year. We studied opening leadership concepts and team building activities (including buying and preparing our dinner). We played on the water 🌊 ☀️. We shared meaningful life-stories, broke bread, and ended the night with communion around the fire. Wow ❤️. It’s going to be an amazing year with our LAUNCH OUT student leaders!

THANK YOU to everyone that helped us to pass our goal for the golf fundraiser. The TOTAL SUPPORT RAISED through this event was $41,516! That’s a great start towards our fiscal budget goal of $235k. Thank you 🙏!

We are humbled and deeply encouraged! Now it’s time to finish planning and preparations for an exciting year of impact ahead of us!

Our after school programming starts on September 22. Pray for our kids as they begin the school year.

THANK YOU to the volunteers and generous sponsors for an amazing golf fundraiser yesterday (shout out to TwoGuys Brewing for the amazing lunch 😋 and to Corrigan Logistics for covering the greens fees!). And a very special thank you to our teens 💜 who volunteered and who had the courage to share their story during the event. Their stories are our mission! THEY are inspiring!

We will give a total giving update from the event at the end of next week. Our GOAL was $40k for this fundraiser, and we were at about $25k going into it. Help us to meet that goal by GIVING ONLINE: https://www.atticafterschool.org.

We are energized and motivated to continue to help teens to write a better story. As we raise support to GROW from 1 to 3 days of after school programming, we are blessed and deeply thankful for the new and continued partners like you. THANK YOU 🙏 for shaping teens lives together with us!
