We love our pets but we don't want to serve furry cheese 🙅🏼‍♀️

This is why .the.change rents our commercial kitchen inspected by the state inside The Downriver Council for the Arts.

✨FREE COMEDY SHOW/BRUNCH 6/21 ✨

Come share some laughs to benefit Downriver Council for the Arts!

For those who don't know the DCA is home to my kitchen. Per Michigan food laws charcuterie must be prepared in a commercial kitchen. I have been fortunate enough to find the perfect space for Brie the Change. For the last year I have spent late nights in the kitchen making meat roses and prosciutto ribbons and I have had the pleasure of becoming a part of an amazing community full of artists of every kind.

Recently the DCA has reached out to the community for help to keep their building. It's now our time as a community to help the DCA keep their space. See their post here 👇

So come out to enjoy some comedy, charcuterie, light refreshments and raffles! Also there will be open mic at the end if you would like to take a shot at comedy yourself!

Adults only! 21+ show

Also we could use some raffle basket donations! Please reach out if you would like to donate! ✨

Help save our home 🥺

From Dr. Kimberly Copeland:
It’s hard to post this. As the Board President of the Downriver Council for the Arts, I usually spend my time sharing the incredible work of our local artists. But today, I have to share a much harder truth: The DCA is in a funding emergency. We are behind on our rent, and we are at risk of losing our home.

It is humbling to admit we’ve reached this point. Rent on the arts center has been increasing every year and the operational costs for a building this size are daunting. Changes to federal and state funding policies have caused delays in the support available to local and regional arts nonprofits. The arts funding landscape has shifted, but our commitment to this community outweighs our pride.

The DCA has deep roots in the downriver community, and our impact is felt here through community events and partnerships, support for artists, professional development opportunities, and low-cost creative education for every age. We believe Downriver needs a place where creativity lives, and we aren’t ready to let our doors close after almost 50 years of service.

We need to raise $10,000 immediately to keep our space and build our rent fund. Whether it’s $5 or $500, every bit helps us keep the doors open. This amount will see us through while our Board of Directors move forward with our strategic plan for the future.

How to help:
• Donate: scan QR code or visit: https://bit.ly/4dj9qCN
• Share: Even if you can’t give, please share this post.
• Show Up: Let’s keep the arts alive Downriver!
