Paddington the snuggliest chocolate bear is looking for his family. He is 10 weeks old. Mom is a 30 lb terrier mix and although we didn’t meet dad we have suspicions he may have been a husky/shepherd mix. These puppies are sweet and so loyal. They love to be with people and cannot wait to get allllllll the attention for themselves in their new homes. Sharing with siblings is lackluster. Paddington does love to sing to you a bit when he wants something- attention or food! He’s a ton of fun. We expect these pups might be larger dogs based on current size. He is in Maine and will be ready to go home in just a few days . He would love an active family 💙

Please read all the way through before submitting applications for sweet Ruby. She is adorable but has been through a lot and is still learning.
A few months ago we saved a mama dog who was full term with a litter of pups. She had been dumped and left to fend for herself. In foster she raised her puppies and has now been spayed and had first vaccines and it’s time for her to seek a family.
Ruby is a 30 lb mixed breed pup(maybe Aussie/terrier). Estimated to be around a year or so old. She doesn’t seem to have been a very loved member of a family in her life. She can be skittish at times. She is thriving in a home with a fenced yard and other dogs! She is gentle with kids but is learning “down” when excited. Leashes are still a bit overwhelming and in places with a lot of people around she will still pancake to the ground. Her foster has discovered that in quieter settings she does walk well and could be a great hiking companion with time and patience. Ruby has amazing springs in her feet and has no problem jumping 4+ feet from a stand still. Baby gates are no match for her agile little body.
She’s great with other dogs and cats. She can be a bit oblivious of tiny dogs if they’re in her way when she’s playing. She is working on her crate training and does well for a couple hours if her people have to be away.
She has regressed a bit on potty training as her puppies have been weaned- almost as if she thought- alright. I’ve raised them, now I need to learn how to be a dog living in a house. And has had a few accidents while she adjusts to a new part of life yet again. She is sweet as it gets. She just isn’t entirely positive that all the good things are really for her just yet. She simply needs a ton of love and patience and appreciation for a hammy personality. If you live an active life and think you are able to support Ruby as she learns how to be a pet- please fill out an adoption application right on our website.

O.M.G. 😍There's just something about a snaggle tooth!

Goliath! If ever a dog lived up to his name 😂..... this guy is sweet but he found himself in the slammer (shelter) after chasing chickens at his home. That's okay- we can find him a home that is poultry free! He's a chihuahua mix estimated to be between 10-12 months old. As an older puppy, he's going to need a family whose schedule can accommodate the needs of an older puppy and give him basic puppy training and daily exercise and playtime. According to his previous owners, he is good with dogs, cats, and kids so is going to be a great addition to someone's family. As you can see from his video, he loves the lovin and will give you lots of kisses. He's currently in AL but we hope to get him up to Maine this fall!

If you are interested in Goliath and have been approved to adopt through us in the past year, please reach out to your adoption coordinator or send us a message. If you are not yet approved or your approval has expired, the first step is to fill out an application on our website. If you cannot adopt right now, you can help by sharing this post and/or applying to foster for future transports!

Oh humans. We've got to do better by our animal friends. This sweet, fluffy puppy Maxine has clearly not been treated well by humans. She showed up on a property in AL with her canine family members- likely she was dumped by her owner- and was then taken to the shelter. She's nervous of men and a little shut down in the shelter- lately it seems the words "shy" seem to turn adopters off dogs but, in my experience, shy dogs are the most rewarding because it's the most amazing thing to see them come out of their shell and learn to be a dog. Maxine will need at least one adult female in the home to make her feel comfortable. At 3 years old, we're not sure she's ever lived in a home as a valued family member so she'll need a family that will give her the time and patience to acclimate to her new life. She does know how to walk on leash and waits to potty outside at the shelter, which indicates that she's potty trained, although we always anticipate a few accidents when in a new environment. She's only about 30 lbs (but could likely stand to gain a few pounds) so will stay medium sized. She is gentle and sweet and so deserving of the best home- she's currently in AL but we hope to be able to tell her to pack her bags soon. Please share to help us make that happen!

If you are interested in Maxine and have been approved to adopt through us in the past year, please reach out to your adoption coordinator or send us a message. If you are not yet approved or your approval has expired, the first step is to fill out an application on our website. Hello my name is Mercury and my favorite thing is channeling Stanley from the Office- my favorite thing is to look around the room and just judge you all. They say I'm a Pyr/Shepherd mix but that's just based on my appearance- mom and dad did not stick around to drop me off at the shelter. I'm currently a little puppy at only 10 lbs but I'm only about 2 months old so I won't stay this little forever. In fact, I may be on the larger side when full grown. If you are into judgy puppies and love big fluffy dogs, I might be your girl. If you want to adopt me, you should be prepared to cater to all my puppy needs such as potty training, crate training, and learning commands such as sit, stay, and don't eat the shoes. You should also have a schedule that complements my tiny puppy bladder. I'm still a baby after all. I'm in AL right now but they are preparing me for a trip North where they say my fluff will be great for this thing called winter.

If you are interested in Mercury and have been approved to adopt through us in the past year, please reach out to your adoption coordinator or send us a message. If you are not yet approved or your approval has expired, the first step is to fill out an application on our website. Yes, the rumors are true! Ringo does have a face hiding under all of that hair. Poor puppy came into the shelter without the ability to see- it seems his previous owners didn't care to get him groomed but we will ensure that his new family recognizes how important it is to have regular grooming. This guy is estimated to be about 10 months old and he's a big guy at about 65 lbs. He was an owner surrender at the shelter but it doesn't appear that he had much care so he'll need a family dedicated to giving him the basic puppy commands training that he didn't receive in his former home. He does have energy so a family that will give him playtime and exercise each day is a must. And while he would love a puppy friend to play with, he can come on a bit strong at first, so a hearty pup that loves to play and be met with lots of enthusiasm would be his best fit. This doodle mix is currently in AL but will be coming to Maine in mid-September. He's hoping for a family that's going to commit to giving him his forever home and that will pledge to always give him the opportunity to have a clear range of vision. 👀

If you are interested in Ringo and have been approved to adopt through us in the past year, please reach out to your adoption coordinator or send us a message. If you are not yet approved or your approval has expired, the first step is to fill out an application on our website. If you cannot adopt right now, you can help by sharing this post and/or applying to foster for future transports!
