Salem's canine foster sibling, Lola, an RCF alum, is teaching him all about the good life in Maine, including how to decapitate stuffies and take yourself for walks when the people aren't moving fast enough 🤣

Salem is a Doodle/Shepherd mix who is about 3.5 months old. He is here in Maine, in foster, and doing great! His foster says: "Salem is doing excellent on potting training. He cries when crated but settles down after a few minutes. His crate has been dry the past few night. He is sweet, food motivated, and likes people. He can be a bit shy but is so sweet! He likes to play tug!"

Salem will likely be on the large side when full grown so potential adopters will need to be okay with that possibility. As a puppy, he will need a family whose schedule can accommodate the needs of a young pup and who have the time and energy for all the puppy training. Leo- once again we are posting this handsome boy, in the hopes that he finds his family! It seems that times are tough in the adoption world for teenage male dogs and so Leo, through no fault of his own, has not received much interest from adopters. Leo is here in Maine, in foster, and his foster says: "He is settling in very nicely. He loves his morning walks and afternoon trips to the park. He has not yet met a dog (or person) that hasn’t become a fast friend. He loves men - I know that is something that is fairly rare in shelter dogs so might be worth mentioning. He is so adaptable and adjusts so quickly! He really would be happiest with another, older, playful dog in the home. He requires a lot of attention - follows me around everywhere and loves to play. Another dog would help exponentially."

Aurelio aka Leo is approaching a year old. He's a mid-sized pup who will fill out with some extra pounds as he came to us very skinny but he will stay in the medium range. We are not sure of his breed- possibly English Springer Spaniel or some setter- but he's super soft and handsome. He will make a great companion for an active family that can give him exercise and outside time and, as his foster mentioned, he would love a canine sibling to play with as well.

Leo is available for meet and greets with approved adopters. Interested adopters who are not yet approved can head to our website to fill out an application.

Goliath is here to tell you that the treats in his foster home are THE BOMB! Foster mom spoils him and he is here for it. Goliath is here in Maine, in foster, and his foster mom reports that he:

🚗Rides well in the car
🚽Appears to be potty trained
🛌+ ⚾Is equal parts playful and snuggly
👪Loves people

Goliath is about 10 months old so he's still a puppy and has pep in his step. He's small but sturdy, weighing in at around 21 lbs. He's obviously part Gremlin but also a mix of some smaller breeds- maybe Chihuahua and pug? He can sometimes get underfoot both in the house and on leash so will need a nimble adopter that is steady on their feet. He is overall a very happy little guy who loves the outdoors and his foster says he still has some puppy antics but overall is an easy guy to have in the home. He was surrendered to rescue in AL because he was chasing chickens on the property with his siblings- we recommend a home without free range poultry for this reason- but his former family did say that he is good with dogs, cats, and kids. Goliath is going to make a family very happy and keep them laughing ✨Approved adopters who are interested in Goliath can reach out to their adoption coordinators. We dare you to stare into Jupiter's eyes and not fall in love 😍

This pup's sweet nature radiates through his photos- fluffy, happy, curious! He's truly a delight. Foster mom says of Jupiter and his brother Mars: "This past week with the Planet litter has been a delight. Mars & Jupiter are still looking for their forever home. They are big pups at only 4 months old, they will be BIG dogs. We believe they have some Great Pyrenees mixed in, making a handsome combo of likely several breeds. They are doing well, learning fast, enjoy other dogs and the people at their foster home. They have typical puppy energy- they love to run around & play."

We believe that Jupiter is a Pyr/Shepherd mixed with some other breeds. Foster mom says that he gives Lab vibes vs the energy of a Shepherd however interested adopters should evaluate whether or not their schedule and energy levels can match the needs of a young puppy. Jupiter is estimated to be about 4 months old. He is here in Maine and is available for a meet and greet with approved adopters.

Mars truly is out of this world 🌍

Lights, camera, action! 🎬 🎥

Zelda is ready for her close up! This adorable pup is a neighborhood celebrity- when she goes for walks, all the kids in the neighborhood come out to greet her. That being said, she is a hit with adults as well and loves all people. She adores people and attention and even does great on car rides. As a puppy, she requires a family whose schedule allows them to be around more than not but she'd also likely love to be on the go with her people.

Her foster says that she can be a little excited at first on walks but, once she settles in, she walks well on leash. She is still working on potty training- she currently uses puppy pads and is improving at going outside. She has some typical puppy habits like jumping up and playful puppy biting so would likely do best with kids that are sturdy and out of the toddler stage. She sleeps well in her kennel, entertains herself with toys, and loves to snuggle on the couch. Overall she's a sweet and delightful puppy that is going to bring a lot of joy to her family (and neighborhood!)

Zelda is a Doodle/Shepherd mix according to the family who surrendered her litter to our rescue partners in AL. She is about 3 months old and we anticipate she will be on the larger side when full grown. She's here in Maine and ready for her "close up" (er meet and greet) with approved and interested adopters!

Sweetest Ruby is seeking her own home. Ruby is a young adult, 30 lb terrier mix. She came to us full term with a litter of puppies and raised them in a foster home. She has been spayed and is ready for her own happily ever after.
She loves other dogs to play with.
She adores the children in her foster home. -She has to be reminded not to jump up with her love still so toddlers may be knocked down. The kiddos in her foster home (8+) love her.
She is doing well house training. It was apparent when coming into rescue that she hadn’t likely lived as a family member before and she is loving the house pet life.
She is crate trained.
She is a sweet snuggler.
She loves to get out in her fosters fenced yard and play with the resident dogs. She is also great with dogs who visit.

Sweet Tundra adores the kiddos she’s gotten to meet. She is incredibly smart and loyal and so eager to be with her people. She can be shy upon meeting strangers but as you can see- quickly warms up for a snuggle and some sweet kisses. Her mom is a 30 lb terrier mix. We didn’t get to meet dad but it appears he may have had some husky in his mix based on tundras beautiful coloring. She is in Maine just waiting for her family. Apply right on our website
