In light of a recent incident at a nearby pantry, we want to be clear: violence of any kind will never be tolerated at our food pantry. Anyone who hits another person while waiting in line will be escorted out by our team and will not be allowed to stay.
We know line-cutting causes tension. It happens at almost every pantry, but there are respectful ways to handle it. Line cutters will simply be moved to the back of the line.
We're here to serve our community with dignity, and that starts with everyone treating each other with respect.
This individual punched an 81-year-old woman in the face during an argument because she cut the line at a food pantry in Queens
According to police sources, the incident unfolded at around 7:45 a.m. on July 16 in Jackson Heights.
Cops say the senior was standing near The Salvation Army Queens Temple Corps Community Center and cut the line.
This man became frustrated, started an argument, and punched the 81-year-old woman in the face.
The victim suffered a laceration and complained of pain. She was listed in stable condition.
Meanwhile, the suspect fled on foot. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and a baseball cap.Β
