From the City's page....
Last Thursday's City Council meeting was one of new beginnings and fond farewells. For many years, Jim and Cindy Rumsey have made a significant impact on our community. Mayor Jones, the City Council, City staff, and friends gathered to recognize their many contributions as the Rumseys prepare for life's next adventure away from Woodland Park.
Some of you may know Jim better as "Mr. Pickleball." Jim and Cindy's passion for the sport, paired with their heart for community service, helped grow pickleball in the City Above the Clouds. "Your efforts have strengthened friendships, promoted healthy lifestyles, and built a vibrant pickleball community that continues to thrive in Woodland Park. Your generosity with your time and talents has made a lasting impact on our city," stated Mayor Jones.
When he wasn't on the courts, Jim served on the City's Board of Adjustment and was one of the City's dedicated Election Judges for many years. Jim brought integrity, professionalism, dedication, and steadfast committment to all the work he has done.
Often by his side, Cindy shared Jim's excitement and passion for being involved in her community. They both shared more than their time and talents - they shared their hearts with all of us. β€ "Volunteers and community leaders like Jim and Cindy exemplify the very best of Woodland Park. Your willingness to serve, your positive spirit, and your unwavering commitment to others have made our city a better place to live, work, and play," shared Mayor Jones.
On behalf of our community, elected officials, city staff, friends, and colleagues, we express our gratitude to Jim and Cindy Rumsey for all the time and work they have dedicated to volunteering. We sincerely wish you all the very best in your next chapter!
