🐾 Foster Needed for This Handsome Frenchie Pup! 🐾

This adorable French Bulldog just turned 5 months old and is looking for a foster home.

✔️ Good with other dogs
✔️ Lives with children
✔️ Sweet and playful puppy

While he does live with kids, he can become overwhelmed by a lot of activity, so a home with dog-savvy children would be ideal.

We are seeking a foster home only at this time until he has seen the vet and been nuetered. All supplies and medical care will be provided by the rescue.

These dogs just keep getting let down over and over, and we're ready to put an end to that. We need committed foster homes for these deserving boys.

🐾 Recess 🐾

Recess is approximately 2–3 years old and has already been failed by at least two owners that we know of.

One owner took him to a park, played ball with him, and then threw the ball one last time. While Recess ran to retrieve it, they got in their car and drove away. He sat there waiting for them to come back until someone finally brought him to the shelter.

Shelter life wasn't for him, so Emilie stepped up as a short-term foster. Then Robyn opened her home as his long-term foster and worked hard to help him find what we thought was his forever family.

Unfortunately, that wasn't the end of his story. The adopter later asked if Robyn could dog-sit for two weeks while their adult son moved into a new home and prepared to take Recess. Despite going through major life changes herself, Robyn agreed. Two weeks came and went. Then came the call: "He's not moving now, so we don't want him anymore."

Abandoned. Again.

Recess deserves so much better.

He is a fun-loving, goofy big boy with the cutest underbite and a personality that will keep you smiling. He enjoys playing with other dogs but can be a rough-and-rowdy playmate. He would do best in a home with no cats and children ages 8 and older, simply because he doesn't always realize how big he is.

🐾 Morgan 🐾

Morgan is 6 years old and has been adopted from the shelter twice—only to end up back as a stray both times.

The moment you meet him, you'll understand why everyone falls in love with him. He is a gentle, loving soul who has spent far too much of his life fending for himself.

The last time he returned to the shelter, it was discovered that he had suffered a broken rib that healed on its own without treatment. Through everything he's endured, Morgan remains sweet, trusting, and eager to love.

Morgan does great with other dogs and would truly thrive in a home with a confident, outgoing canine companion to help show him the ropes and remind him that the world isn't such a scary place. He takes comfort in having another dog around and gains confidence from their example.

No cats for this boy, though. After a previous encounter, he's a little traumatized and would prefer to keep his distance from feline friends.

This boy deserves a family willing to show him that not everyone leaves and not everyone gives up.

We know there is someone out there looking for a dog exactly like Morgan.

💙 A Huge Thank You to Our Decompression Fosters, Paula & Rachel! 💙

We want to take a moment to recognize two incredible people who have gone above and beyond for our rescue dogs — Paula and Rachel.

Back-to-back, they have welcomed Morgan and Liberty into their home and provided them with exactly what they needed most: a safe place to decompress, rest, and learn that not every person in this world is going to hurt them.

Their setup includes a separate area where dogs can relax, feel secure, and adjust at their own pace. During this time, Paula and Rachel work tirelessly to learn about each dog's personality, needs, routines, and challenges so we can place them with the foster family that is the best fit for long-term success.

Today, Liberty headed off to the next step of her journey with her foster! In just a short time, she's already started learning potty training, her medical issues are improving, and she's gaining confidence every day. Because of the foundation Paula and Rachel helped build, Libby now has the opportunity to thrive and show her new foster family everything she has learned over the past week.

🐾 What is a Decompression Foster?

A decompression foster is a temporary foster home that gives dogs time to adjust after leaving a shelter, neglectful situation, or other stressful environment. This period allows us to learn more about the dog, understand what they need, and find the foster home that will set them up for success.

🐾 Why is it Important?

In just 1-2 weeks, we learn so much. We can identify behaviors, routines, training needs, medical concerns, and personality traits that help us make better placement decisions. This short period often makes a huge difference in helping a dog succeed in foster care and ultimately find the perfect forever home.

We would love to add more decompression fosters to our roster! This role is one of the most important steps in a rescue dog's journey. Please message us if interested.

Decompression fosters need to:
• Be comfortable with dogs that may not be potty trained
• Follow structured schedules and decompression plans
• Adapt to the unique needs of each dog
• Have patience, compassion, and a huge heart
• Be committed to helping dogs succeed

Some dogs arrive scared and unsure of the world. Some have never learned how to simply be a dog. Others just need a few nights of uninterrupted sleep after leaving the shelter. Whatever their needs may be, decompression fosters provide the critical first step toward healing.

As a rescue, we're working to create even more structure around this program because we know how vital it is to setting our dogs up for success and finding them the perfect homes.
