September is National Childhood Obesity Awareness Month.

Did you know? About 1 in 5 American children are affected by obesity. Factors that influence obesity include genes, eating patterns, physical activity levels, access to health care, and sleep routines. Also, conditions where we live, learn, work, and play affect access to healthy food and safe places to be physically active.

Though there is no one solution to addressing obesity, together we can make a difference in the lives of our children and future generations.

See the link in the comments for ways families can help prevent or address obesity.

TOMORROW! Help Fill Our Pantry!

Our first-ever Drive-Through Food Drive is happening TOMORROW, and we’d love to see you there!

Saturday, August 29 | 10:00 AM–1:00 PM
📍 500 25th St. N., Wisconsin Rapids

Just drive up, drop off, and make a difference! No need to get out of your car—we’ll take it from there. 💜

Don't worry if you don't have something on the list! We’ll gladly accept any unexpired, non-perishable food items, as well as cleaning supplies and toiletries.

Every item donated helps us keep our client-choice pantry stocked so individuals and families can select foods that meet their needs, preferences and traditions.

Can't make it tomorrow? Help us spread the word! Share this post with a friend, family member, church, workplace or anyone who might want to help fill our pantry.

💜 Drive up. Drop off. Make a difference.

We hope to see you tomorrow!

Did you know the Healthy Smiles Program of Wood County comes right to the Club to help our kids build healthy habits?

Through this program, Club members can receive free dental cleaning services, learn the importance of regular brushing, and get encouragement to keep those healthy habits going at home.

Because a healthy smile matters. A painful mouth can make it harder for a child to learn, have fun, focus, and simply enjoy being a kid. We care about the whole child and that includes helping every Club member build healthy habits that support a healthy, happy future! Learn more here: https://www.woodcountywi.gov/Departments/Health/Dental.aspx

Thank you to Healthy People Wood County and the Healthy Smiles Program for helping our Club kids smile brighter!
