It’s been a wonderful summer at Little Star — we have had so much fun playing, learning, splashing, creating, and laughing together. A huge thank you goes out to all the teachers that put in so much creativity, dedication, love and hard work to make summer programming happen — we could not do it without you!

Another thank you goes out to all the businesses and community organizations that made this summer magical, including , , Cascade Concrete, the , , the Winthrop Library, the , and . We are so grateful for everyone that visited campus to share their work with the campers, and to all that welcome the kids on field trips.

Today we bid a fond farewell to our red playhouse, which has been a source of joy for countless children at Little Star for over 30 years. Thank you playhouse! We made an attempt to salvage it but the wood is beyond its useful life. We’re excited to move ahead on the installation of a grade slide and hill for more climbing and sliding opportunities for the kiddos — thank you to for making it happen!

Say what you will, but Preschool graduation is a testament to all the important things these young people have learned at their time at Little Star - compassion for others, compassion for themselves, curiosity, conflict management, sharing and so much more. We are proud of you, and can't wait to see how you grow in this world.

The child care needs assessment in 2014 resulted in LittleStar Montessori adding infant child care slots, the Methow Valley School District #350 offering the after school program, and more!

Give Methow is an online fundraising campaign through the Community Foundation of North Central Washington to benefit Methow Valley nonprofits, running October 1-31st.
