This. This is why we do what we do.
We talk a lot about the power of music and the impact of arts education. But sometimes, it takes hearing from a parent to remind us just how meaningful that impact can be.
When a mother shares, with tears in her eyes, how much her child has grown in confidence because of their experience at our Summer Institute, it's hard to put into words what that means to us.
We are incredibly proud of the work we do at Central Florida Vocal Arts. But more than anything, we're grateful. Grateful for the families who trust us with their children, for the educators who pour their hearts into every student, and for the opportunity to play a part in helping a young person discover what they're capable of.
Our mission has never been simply to teach children how to sing. It really is as we use the transformative power of the arts to them find their voice, believe in themselves, and carry that confidence into the world.

For 15 seasons, Central Florida Vocal Arts has believed that music has the power to do more than entertain. It builds confidence, creates connection and opens doors.

Nearly 1/3 of all Orange County middle school girls have seriously contemplated su***de and our country is experiencing a crisis of disconnection, discord and isolation. The arts offer a unique and accessible opportunity for audiences and participants to feel, to heal and to understand we have more in common than what divides us - that together we can build a brighter tomorrow. As we battle a myriad of complex community challenges, the arts are more critically needed today, than perhaps ever before in our lifetime.

Through music, students learn discipline, collaboration, resilience, and how to use their voice—onstage and in life. Audiences grow in empathy and understanding, as they learn that we have more in common than it may seem. Together, we discover that we all belong and that all voices matter!

Ethan Garrepy is an Orlando-based multihyphenate artist and creative, and a recent graduate of the University of Florida’s BFA Musical Theatre program. Recent credits include Heated Ribaldry (Ilya Pantzarov), Hedwig and the Angry Inch (Hedwig/Tommy), and Rent (Roger Davis), among others.

Ethan is delighted to return to Central Florida Vocal Arts and Opera del Sol for Evil Dead: The Musical — an especially exciting project for a longtime fan of the Evil Dead franchise.

Thanks to the cast, crew, and creative team for the opportunity, and their family, blood and chosen, for the constant support.
