🏃♂️ One year since my quadruple bypass, and what a journey it’s been! so I decided to celebrate with my first run since the surgery. 🎉 Despite thinking I was in peak shape a year ago, life had other plans - bad genes, grief, and years of entrepreneurial stress caught up with me, resulting in that much needed operation.
But hey, I’ve been spinning and working out post-recovery. So I laced up for a run along NYC’s west side path, embracing the spring weather. ☀️ Five miles in, feeling invincible, I took a tumble - earbuds flying, glasses scattered, knees and elbows road rashed.
Lesson learned: Don’t get too cocky; life’s full of surprises. But also, there’s kindness everywhere. Strangers stopped to help, reminding me of life’s fragility and resilience. 🤝 And yes, even my graceful fall made someone’s day!
It’s not about how hard you fall, but how high you bounce!!!
💪 Grateful I could bounce back and finish strong. My celebration run taught me to embrace life’s ups and downs, and to keep moving forward, no matter what.
Cheers to life’s lessons, both the smooth runs and the epic falls! 🙌
