Friday and Saturday!

You can be a part of one of the largest community science projects in the Southeast! Take just 15 minutes anytime this Friday or Saturday (August 21 & 22) to count the pollinators you see on ONE plant and submit those numbers to the online database (linked below)! You can do this on your own at your house, a park nearby, or anywhere with a flowering plant - OR you can join us at one of the 5+ locations around Forsyth County to participate with your community!

With Us: Visit this website (go.ncsu.edu/gsepc-forsyth) to find a list of all the locations you will find N.C. Cooperative Extension, Forsyth County staff and volunteers. These sites include Second Harvest Food Bank, community gardens, and Old Salem!

No matter what, we encourage you to be a part of this incredible science project powered by your neighbors from Florida to the top of North Carolina.

Yesterday our club members participated in the Honeybee Festival 🐝. Boy, was it busy and hot! 🥵 Even so, we represented FCBA and celebrated honeybees as a team. A severe thunderstorm nudged us to pack up quickly and get everything in our vehicles. Working as the strong team that we are, we loaded up and made an exit right before the festival end time.

We love teaching others about honeybees and their importance to agriculture and the environment. 🐝

🐝🍯 Happy National Honey Bee Day! 🍯🐝
Today we celebrate the amazing honey bees and all the important work they do for our world. Honey bees are so much more than the tiny creatures that make the sweet honey we enjoy—they play a vital role in pollinating flowers, fruits, vegetables, trees, and many of the crops that help feed people and animals. As they move from flower to flower collecting nectar and pollen, they help plants reproduce and keep our ecosystems healthy and thriving. Honey bees also support farmers, gardeners, beekeepers, and communities across the country, making them an incredibly important part of agriculture and our environment. Their hard work, organization, and teamwork are truly remarkable, and the honey they produce is just one of the many gifts they give us. By protecting honey bees, planting pollinator-friendly flowers, providing safe places for them to forage, and supporting local beekeepers, we can all help make a difference. Today, let’s take a moment to appreciate these incredible little pollinators and remember just how much they contribute to our food supply, our flowers, our farms, and our beautiful world. Thank you to all the hardworking honey bees and to the beekeepers who care for and protect them! 🐝🌻🍯 Happy National Honey Bee Day! 💛🐝
