Our friends at SECU Family House- Winston Salem are hiring a Director of Operations!

Every day, the Family House welcomes patients and caregivers who need a comfortable, caring place to stay close to medical care and to one another.

They're looking for a Director of Operations to help keep their 45-room house, and the many details behind their mission, running smoothly. This hands-on leadership role works closely with the Executive Director and team across guest services, facilities, finance, and day-to-day operations.

What are today’s travelers looking for? Something real.

A big thank you to Marlise Taylor, Director of Tourism Research with Visit NC, for sharing insights with FCHA on tourism trends from 2024–2026.

One message stood out: travelers increasingly want authentic experiences - and North Carolina has a huge advantage. We don’t have to manufacture that “real” feeling. We already have it.

From our communities and local businesses to our food, culture and natural beauty, authenticity is one of NC’s greatest tourism assets.

Thank you to The Hawthorne Inn for hosting us and to everyone who joined us!

👟 Got Sneakers?

FCHA is kicking off an ongoing fundraiser — we're collecting gently used sneakers from select brands (adults AND kids!) to help fund our mission all year long.

✅ Fair to Excellent condition
✅ Adult & children's sizes
✅ Most major athletic and lifestyle brands accepted

How to donate: bring your sneakers to any FCHA meeting and hand them off to a board member. No sign-up, no deadline — just clean out the closet whenever you're ready and drop them off.

Let's keep this going, Forsyth County! 👟♻️

❤️ Thank you, Forsyth County!
Yesterday's blood drive at the Brookstown Inn brought our community together for a great cause — and thanks to everyone who rolled up a sleeve (or helped spread the word), we collected 17 units of blood for patients right here in our region.
We'll be back with another drive soon — keep an eye out, and let's keep this momentum going for Forsyth County!
And a big THANK YOU to the Historic Brookstown Inn for sharing their beautiful space with us!
