The Gold Shield Foundation of North Carolina is honored to have given a check this week to the family of fallen Forsyth County Sheriff's Deputy Auston Reudelhuber (Rudy). Rudy passed away after being involved in a head-on collision on his way to work on September 9, 2023. We are saddened by the loss of life and extend our condolences to his blood family and blue family. We pledge that the life of Rudy will not be forgotten!

We were proud to be a part of the Forsyth County Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Service this year! We recognized Corporal Pendolino and K9 Rex from the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office for their valiant efforts on the morning of December 25th, 2021 by presenting the K9 Team with a plaque and monetary donation. Thank you to all of our donors for helping us achieve our mission and give back to those who selflessly serve!

We extend our condolences to the families, individuals, and officers affected by the deadly shooting in Louisville this morning. We are deeply saddened by the tragic events that unfolded this morning. Thank you to all of our men and women in blue who ran toward the gunfire to save as many innocent lives as possible. Our officers who serve and protect must always be prepared to risk their own lives to save others. Our thoughts and prayers are with the two officers and the numerous others suffering from injuries sustained during the shooting – we continue to hope and pray that everyone has a speedy recovery💙

Another life is gone too soon. Deputy Willie C. Williams unexpectedly passed away on Friday evening. Deputy Wiliams was a beloved Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office staff member who served with the agency for almost 20 years. He will forever be known and remembered for his smile, kindness, and passion for serving Forsyth County. Our condolences and prayers go out to all the loved ones of Deputy Williams, including those who served alongside him. Rest easy, Willie. 💙

As always, any loss of life is a loss to our community. In this case, the loss of life hits close to home for our FCSO Family. We are saddened to announce that Deputy Sheriff Willie Clyde Williams, one of our own, has passed away unexpectedly.
Willie C. Williams joined the FCSO Family in 2003 as a Detention Officer and became sworn as a Deputy Sheriff shortly after in 2006. Willie was a proud father and a beloved family member. He had a smile that could light up a room as soon as he walked in. The FCSO Family will never forget his kindness, compassion, and big heart. Today, we mourn a lost life. The light he has shown in this world will forever be remembered by not only our FCSO Family, but the many lives he touched during his time here on earth. Rest easy, Willie, we have the watch from here. 💙

We are deeply saddened by the tragic events that occurred in Raleigh yesterday evening. Our condolences go out to both the blood and blue family of the RPD Officer killed in the line of duty, the injured RPD officer, and all of the victim’s families who are mourning the loss of loved ones as a result of the senseless act of violence. This tragic incident is a harsh reminder that the field of law enforcement is not your average 8 to 5 job but one that demands commitment and dedication 24/7.

We are deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Forsyth County Emergency Services Director Daren Ziglar. Chief Ziglar served in many ways during his 40 years with the Walkertown Volunteer Fire Department and Emergency Services in Forsyth County. He made a lasting impact during his time of service, and his legacy will continue for years to come. Chief Ziglar was a driven, caring, and passionate leader who was also a gracious supporter of the Gold Shield Foundation. Rest in Peace Chief Ziglar, You will be very missed.

A couple days ago, we were humbled to have the opportunity to present a check to a King Police Department officer injured in the line of duty earlier this year. We hope the contribution not only assists with the officer's financial burdens but also the mental and physical burdens being faced following the life-threatening incident.
