Housing is a topic that keeps our community members up at night. The Asset Building Coalition of Forsyth County is excited to be joining this event.

We will be moderating a panel on Innovative Housing Solutions & the Importance of Community and Collaborations.

🏠 The city of Winston-Salem and Piedmont Triad Regional Council have partnered to host the 2025 Piedmont Triad Regional Housing Summit! It will begin on February 27, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the Benton Convention Center.

This is an excellent opportunity for anyone and everyone to learn, network and hear from national and regional experts on affordable housing issues and successes. You must register to attend.

Our child care system is at the edge of a funding cliff and time is running out! This week is our LAST chance to tell state legislators to extend Child Care Compensation Grants before the money runs out on June 30th. Without this funding, there will be catastrophic consequences for North Carolina families and businesses.

Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) is a program for people who work in public service in federal, state, tribal, or local government, or for a non-profit organization.

The PSLF Program forgives the remaining balance on your Direct Loans after you have made 120 qualifying monthly payments under a qualifying repayment plan while working full-time for a qualifying employer.

The “limited PSLF waiver” refers to the time-limited changes to PSLF Program rules that allow borrowers to receive credit for past periods of repayment that would otherwise not qualify for PSLF. This opportunity ends on Oct. 31, 2022.

Did you know that in North Carolina a driver’s license is automatically suspended when traffic debt is not paid or resolved by a set deadline? And, as of January 2022, more than 41,000 drivers in Forsyth County have suspended driver’s licenses for unpaid traffic fines and fees.

The Asset Building Coalition of Forsyth County (ABC) envisions a Forsyth County in which every person has a foundation of financial stability on which to build their life. We believe that systems of local, state, and federal government should promote and encourage the well-being of our residents. However, fines and fees involved with the court system frequently impose hardships on people and threaten their financial stability.

ABC invites all community members and organizations in Forsyth County to join us in signing a petition advocating for the expansion of Forsyth County’s DRIVE program.
