Engage Winona Engage Winona strengthens communities in SE MN by reigniting community participation through conversations, support, and training.

Our vision is of a community where everyone is welcomed, heard and included; sees themselves as community leaders and changemakers; and has the tools and resources to create change that supports a resilient, inclusive community. We focus on three areas that encompass the cycle of community leadership and changemaking:

GATHER: We host conversations, dialogues, storytelling events, and other creati

ve and innovative gatherings that bring folks together across traditional divides to learn from each other, connect in new ways, and create shared visions for the community’s future. BUILD: We build capacity: In individual changemakers, through workshops, trainings, mentorships, and cohort leadership programs; and in groups and organizations through organizing, facilitation, goal-setting, resource connections, and technical support. ACT: We support changemakers and amplify their voices as they bring their skills and visions to organizing, direct action, advocacy, and community service. Engage Winona strives to make community engagement inclusive, generative — and joyful — for all.

Leading Local is back this fall and we could not be more excited! 🎉

This partnership between Engage Winona and the Winona Post is returning with three workshops this September and October, each designed to help you deepen your impact and get more involved in decisions that shape our community — from talking to local officials effectively, to joining a local committee, to knowing exactly what's on a local government agenda!

It's been a month since we hosted this year's watch party for Rural Assembly's Rural Everywhere event, in partnership with The Art Of The Rural!

Sometimes, something kind of magical happens when you're able to convene. Strengths, connections, and shared visions for rural futures all rose to the surface over a meal and through conversations. A month later, we're still feeling the magic! Not just the evening itself, but what it revealed about the resilience and the connections we share.

Join Engage Winona for a nonpartisan Community Visit with MN Secretary of State Steve Simon on Thursday, August 20, from 2 to 3 p.m. at the Winona County History Center. Secretary Simon is joining us in his official capacity as our state's currently elected Secretary of State, and this event is nonpartisan and open to all.
