Engage Winona Engage Winona strengthens communities in SE MN by reigniting community participation through conversations, support, and training.

Our vision is of a community where everyone is welcomed, heard and included; sees themselves as community leaders and changemakers; and has the tools and resources to create change that supports a resilient, inclusive community. We focus on three areas that encompass the cycle of community leadership and changemaking:

GATHER: We host conversations, dialogues, storytelling events, and other creati

ve and innovative gatherings that bring folks together across traditional divides to learn from each other, connect in new ways, and create shared visions for the community’s future. BUILD: We build capacity: In individual changemakers, through workshops, trainings, mentorships, and cohort leadership programs; and in groups and organizations through organizing, facilitation, goal-setting, resource connections, and technical support. ACT: We support changemakers and amplify their voices as they bring their skills and visions to organizing, direct action, advocacy, and community service. Engage Winona strives to make community engagement inclusive, generative — and joyful — for all.

The Winona Area Kitchen Table is wrapping up three years of work — and we want to celebrate with you!

Last night, the Winona Area Kitchen Table, a program on Engage Winona, held their final public workshop, cohosted by Habitat for Humanity serving Winona County, wrapping up three years of working towards ensuring everyone in our community has a safe, stable place to call home. Now it's time to celebrate — and we want you there!

Join us on Wednesday, July 22, 5–7 PM for Winona Area Kitchen Table's Wrap Party & Film Screening at the Winona County Historical Society , 160 Johnson St. Programming starts at 5:30. Dinner provided, and all are welcome.

Come reflect, reconnect, and celebrate the people and community that made it all possible. Whether you've been part of the Kitchen Table's journey from the start or are just learning about their work, we'd love to celebrate with you!

Winona Together is back this summer, and we could not be more excited to kick things off with you!

Come join us for the kickoff event, Winona Together - Won't You Be Our Neighbor? on July 14 from 5 to 7 PM at Peter's Biergarten Biergarten. This first conversation is part of the America 250 celebrations and a great chance to meet your neighbors, share some good conversation, and imagine what our community can be.

This FREE series runs all summer and is open to everyone! No agenda, no pressure, just good people gathering in a great space.

Just a friendly reminder that we are officially opening the new exhibits to the public on June 13th, 2026. We want to make sure everything is s**c and span for your visit!

Studio HUMBL just installed these floor-to-ceiling graphics of a few historic archival images, so things are coming together quickly!

Until then we finish, The Museum Shop and Slaggie Family Lobby and Art Gallery are open to visitors for free from 10am - 4pm daily.

Next Leading Local Workshop: Volunteerism and Mutual Aid, June 9th from 6-7:30pm at the Winona County Hisotrical Society!

Folks will hear from a panel of community members, from organizations such as the Winona Creators Collecitves and Fools Five Road Race, who started small to make a big impact in their communities!

May flew by, and we're excited to share what's been going on!

Thank you to everyone who came out for the Winona Area Kitchen Tables workshops this month! We learned, we connected, and we had some genuinely great conversations.

We heard from the Greater Minnesota Housing Fund about their emerging Developers Program, and from City Planner Luke Sims who helped us make sense of zoning in our own backyard, and how to say to more neighbors!

This June, we are wrapping up the season with Home Ownership 101, brought to you in partnership Habitat for Humanity serving Winona County Thinking about buying a home someday? Curious about ways to support new neighbors? This one is for you. Come hang out and learn with us!
