Mississippi State University Extension has published a teaching/learning manual in sympathy floral design. Co-authored by James DelPrince, Cole Etheredge, and Alyssa Palmer, faculty in MSU's Dept. of Plant and Soil Sciences, the manual was written to help students, teachers, retailers and wholesale florists learn about the practices of processing, designing, selling, and delivering sympathy flowers.

The manual is peer-reviewed, 90 pages long, and can be downloaded here: https://extension.msstate.edu/publications/sympathy-floral-design-manual

At Tyler Holmes Memorial Hospital Swing Bed, recovery goes beyond the walls of a hospital room.

Our therapeutic garden offers patients the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of gardening as part of the healing journey. Planting flowers, caring for vegetables, and spending time outdoors can help improve strength, coordination, mood, confidence, and overall well-being while recovering.

Every bloom represents progress. Every step in the garden is a step toward independence.

Ask your healthcare provider if our Swing Bed Program is right for you or your loved one.
