This weeks program:

Rotarian Sara Evans will introduce this week’s guest speaker, Brandi Waldrop.

Originally from Vicksburg, Brandi’s journey led her to God’s House of Hope in 2019, a turning point that transformed her life. For the past year, she has been running Howell’s Event Center. Brandi will be sharing a bit of her inspiring personal story, but her main focus will be highlighting the event center and discussing the role it plays in supporting and funding their ministry.

Please make plans to attend, welcome our guest, and learn more about how this local ministry is making an impact in our area. See you Thursday!

Rotarian Lane Greenlee introduced our guest speaker, Fifth Circuit District Court Judge Alan D. "Devo" Lancaster. Judge Lancaster spoke on the distinct makeup of the court system, the types of cases the circuit court hears, and the unique responsibilities required of a circuit judge.

As a vital part of our state's legal framework, Mississippi Circuit Courts handle felony criminal prosecutions and major civil lawsuits. They also hear appeals from County, Justice, and Municipal courts, as well as various administrative boards.

Judge Lancaster brings a wealth of knowledge to this role, with over 44 years of legal experience. Before being elected to the Fifth Circuit Court District (which covers Attala, Carroll, Choctaw, Grenada, Montgomery, Webster, and Winston counties), he dedicated 20 years to municipal court service, including 12 years as the Winona Municipal Judge and 8 years as the Grenada Municipal Judge.

We are incredibly grateful to Judge Lancaster for taking the time to share his insight and dedication to justice with our club!

Judge Lancaster represents Place 2 of Mississippi’s Fifth Circuit Court District. With a distinguished 44-year legal career, his experience includes serving as a municipal judge for both Winona and Grenada, and 36 years as the attorney for the Montgomery County Board of Supervisors.

Rotarian Lane Greenlee will introduce Judge Lancaster for this timely insight into our regional judicial system.

Mississippi ITS had the pleasure of speaking with the Rotary Club of Winona, Mississippi!

We had a fantastic meeting this past week! The Winona Rotary Club was honored to host Stephanie Hedgepeth, the Chief Strategy Officer for the Mississippi Department of Information Technology Services (ITS).

The program was proudly introduced by Rotarian Matt Bennett. Stephanie gave an incredibly insightful presentation on the rapidly evolving world of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its practical impacts. She highlighted how the essential work of her department truly touches every single corner of Mississippi—driving innovation and providing vital support that bridges the gap from our state government all the way down to our local municipalities.

What a fantastic program at today’s Rotary Club of Winona meeting!

For today's program, Rotarian Lydia Chassaniol, who also serves as our state Senator, introduced our guest speaker, Danielle Morgan, the Executive Director of the Mississippi Tourism Association (MTA)!

Danielle, a lifelong Mississippian who previously led the Greenwood Convention and Visitors Bureau, shared wonderful insights into how the MTA serves as the unified voice for our state's hospitality and tourism economy. She highlighted their ongoing efforts in grassroots advocacy, industry education, and professional training programs that help drive visitor spending and support local communities.
