This month, we don’t just recognize service…
we honor sacrifice, courage, and a commitment greater than self.

To the men and women who have worn the uniform, past and present,
you have stood in the gap, defended our freedoms, and carried burdens most will never fully understand.

Because of you, we live in a nation of possibility.

Because of you, we are free.

At Operation First Response, we have had the honor of standing beside these heroes and their families in their most difficult moments, and we are reminded every single day that service doesn’t end when the uniform comes off.

💔 Some gave everything.
💪 All gave something.
🇺🇸 And every single one deserves to be remembered.

Today, and every day, we say what will never feel like enough…

Today, the American Legion Auxiliary Everett S. Fick Unit 9, District 8, would like to extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who joined us for the placement of our Memorial Day wreath at the Everett S. Fick flagpole on the Winn Parish Courthouse lawn.

Your presence meant more than words can express.

This wreath was placed in honor and remembrance of the brave military men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation. Because of their sacrifice, we have the freedoms we hold so dear today.

We are especially thankful for the support of our local officials, the members of American Legion Everett S. Fick Post 9, and the community members who stood with us in unity and respect. Together, we were able to bring recognition to a cause that will never be forgotten.

May we continue to remember, honor, and carry forward the legacy of those who made the ultimate sacrifice. 🇺🇸

Louisiana Girls State is a premier leadership and citizenship experience designed to educate young women about the duties, privileges, rights, and responsibilities of American citizens.
