Athlete Speaker this week was Kemyd Faciane. His verse was John 13:7-What I am doing you do not understand now, but afterward you will understand.
Kemyd reminded his fellow peers that God had a plan for each and everyone of them and that although they did not understand right now one day they would.
He shared that there was a time in his life that his family was homeless. Kemyd also told us that during his time in Rosenberg, TX he viewed himself as a bad kid.
Everything changed for him when his family uprooted and made the move to Mentone, Texas. It was during this time that he said his true relationship with Christ started. He told his peers that he felt like he had no one and that he was in the middle of nowhere. Kemyd told them that he felt lonely at times and that God was the only one he had to talk to. His parents had just bought the restraunt and it was a very busy time for his family as they were all trying to settle in.
We talked about how life had changed for him once he started school in Wink.
Kemyd shared that when he was in Rosenberg, the people he was surrounded with never talked about God. He looked around the room hands lifted and said " There was none of this." He said "FCA, the people, parents, the friends, the teachers, God..... none of this was were I was." People here care, the teachers/parents are genuine, no one is afraid to talk about God here."
Life had definitely changed for Kemyd and it was all apart of God's plan.
One thing is forsure about Kemyd Faciane.... he has a heart of gratitude.
We closed with a short talk about what a difference there is when God is invited into a place and how the atmosphere/situation changes drastically. A reminder to the students that when The Lord is present so is His love.
