Help the Windsor Community Garden by making a purchase via our Spring Fundraiser. There are some unique items available: strawberries, a deer guard seed mat, color-based flower collections, hanging tomato plant bags, even peat pots. 1/2 of each sale goes to WCG to help us help maintain the community garden and food forest, build new garden beds, and improve watering systems and other infrastructure. Funds will also support the purchase of seeds, soil, and plants used to grow fresh food that is shared free with members of the community.

The Nulhegan Band of the Coosuk - Abenaki Nation has partnered with Rooted in Vermont, a program of the Vermont Farm to Plate Network, and the Northeast Organic Farming Association of Vermont (NOFA-VT) in providing indigenous seeds to over a dozen gardeners, homesteaders, and farmers around Vermont who have dedicated land to grow and harvest food for Abenaki citizens this season. The Windsor Community Garden is honored to be a location that has land dedicated to grow and harvest food for Abenaki citizens. Seeds have been graciously provided by the Nulhegan Band of the Coosuk - Abenaki Nation and cannot be used for any other purpose outside of the project. Three years ago our gardeners grew Algonquin squash and Mohawk beans, and two years ago we grew our third crop of Mohawk beans. This year we are honored to be growing our second crop of True Cranberry Beans. During harvest in September our volunteers will pick the crops and return them back to the Nulhegan Band of the Coosuk - Abenaki Nation for their use.
