Wimberley Valley friends—this is a great opportunity to get prepared and stay safe!

Hays County Department of Emergency Services is offering a FREE monthly Emergency Preparedness Training Series at The Barnabas Connection (101 West Spoke Hollow Rd.).

🗓 Starts in May 5th and continues the 1st Tuesday of each month (through March 2027)
⏰ 4:30–8:00 PM
🌮 Tacos provided!

You’ll learn essential skills like:
✔️ Emergency preparedness
✔️ First aid
✔️ Fire safety
✔️ Search & rescue
✔️ Disaster response & awareness

This is the same training used for CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) certification—but you can attend just to learn. No commitment required!

Great for students, families, and seniors—everyone is welcome.

Come get prepared, meet your neighbors, and learn how to help when it matters most.

Volunteers Needed March 21st!

On March 20th and 21st, the ALS Association Ride to Defeat ALS Texas is happening right here in Wimberley!

This inspiring community event raises critical funds to support research, advocacy, and care for individuals and families affected by ALS. It’s a powerful opportunity for our town to come together for a cause that truly makes a difference.

Primary Event Location is at:

Willow Lake Watering Hole & Mercantile, 110 Old Kyle Rd. Wimberley TX 78676

Volunteers Needed:
We are seeking local volunteers for:

Friday (March 20th) – Event setup and preparation

Saturday (March 21st) – Event support and rider assistance

There are a variety of roles available, and we welcome volunteers of all ages and abilities. Whether you can give a few hours or the full day, your time and energy will help make this event a success.

Great response to serve at this years Thanksgiving dinner. We have over 135 volunteers scheduled and a full waiting list. There are still spots to support Schoolyard dogs at the trail if lights through December.
