We forgot to take the photo from the club meeting last night before some members had already left

Plans were made for a speaker at the next meeting on 7/28 - a sign language expert. We also talked about several hands on service projects that Sarah Lynn Carlton Kelli Ann Derr and Frank are following up on this week for specific details and potential date options for club participation.

We had two guests Cami and Lorraine that Emily Catherine invited. We hope they will join us at again at an upcoming meeting and consider becoming charter club members as well 😎

We had a fun project at our meeting this week. We packed bags for children being put into emergency foster care situations.
We included pajamas, toothbrushes, toothpaste, a book, plush toy or blanket, notepad and pens, and a hand written note of support

Here is a fun project idea. Another Civitan club purchased plants from a local nursery (these could be donated), a large bag of potting soil and some small pots from Dollar Tree - then at a meeting assembled them to donate to teacher at a school where their club meets. They could be given to a local assisted living, nursing home, firehouse, etc. It is hands on and easy for all to be involved.

We are looking for NEW MEMBERS

People in our community to come and join us during our organizational meetings to learn what Civitan is about in our local community volunteering efforts, what is involved in becoming a member and meeting some new friends. We need 20 members signed up to officially charter the club, then the club members will determine the frequency that the club will meet, the local projects the club will support, etc.

Our upcoming meetings are Tues 6/16, Tues 6/30 and Tues 7/14 at the Flying Machine Brewing Company from 5:30 - 6:30 pm. Come join us for fellowship and a beverage.

We have our next club organizational meeting Tues 6/16 at the Flying Machine Brewing Company from 5:30 - 6:30 pm. We will have a speaker from the Boys and Girls Home to share a little what what they do there and how they support kids in need. I hope that you will make plans to join us and bring a friend.
