We’re not asking for seats.
We’re building the table.

VIBE Vet is a new national veterinary association where every veterinary role is offered membership — and every role is represented in leadership throughout the organization.

For the past 18 months, we’ve been intentionally designing a governance system where power is shared and every voice has a pathway to be heard.

We didn’t build this in a closed room.

A group of 40 Founding Visionaries met weekly for structured working sessions. That group included:

• Credentialed veterinary technicians
• Veterinary assistants
• Veterinary students (DVM, tech/nursing, assistant)
• Veterinary receptionists
• Diplomate & VTS specialists
• Veterinary school & tech/nursing educators
• Industry professionals
• Allied pet professionals — trainers, animal control officers, shelter leaders, and more

We wanted to show that collaboration across roles isn’t theoretical.

It’s achievable.

We know because we’ve been doing it.

After those sessions, I spent two months drafting the formal governance foundation — Bylaws draft, Assembly Charter, election safeguards, structural checks & balances — built directly from that collaboration.

Now we bring that framework to the profession.

Founder’s Update | VIBE Vet 🐾

Today feels big.

After years of listening, learning, advocating, and sitting in rooms where decisions about veterinary professionals were made without everyone present, I’m ready to share more of what we’ve been building.

I’m Ashli Selke, a credentialed veterinary technician and the founder of VIBE Vet.

VIBE Vet is a national veterinary association for the entire veterinary industry: technicians, assistants, veterinarians, receptionists, managers, educators, students, industry partners, and allied professionals.
Every role. Every voice. One ecosystem.

This isn’t about replacing existing organizations or pointing fingers.
It’s about building what’s been missing: inclusive governance, shared leadership, and real collaboration across roles.

Before saying anything publicly, we focused on doing the unglamorous but essential work:
• Establishing governance frameworks for a national association
• Defining our mission, vision, and values
• Beginning trademark protections
• Designing systems rooted in transparency and accountability

Most importantly, we didn’t do this alone.

We brought together 40 Founding Visionaries from across all roles in veterinary medicine. For six weeks, we met weekly; listening, challenging assumptions, and building intentionally.

Those conversations shaped everything.

What’s next:
We’ll soon be opening a call for Board nominations.

This will be an inclusive board, not just veterinarians, not just technicians, but representatives across the veterinary ecosystem sitting at a shared table. Because no single role carries this profession alone.

If you’ve ever felt like your role mattered but your voice didn’t, this is for you.
If you believe veterinary medicine is stronger when we work together, this is for you.

We’re going to rock the veterinary ecosystem boat; not to tip it over, but to help all of us build thriving careers doing what we love.

🎙️ VIBE Vet Leadership Announcement

We’re excited to officially welcome Ryan Johnson as Director of Media & Strategic Partnerships for VIBE Vet.

Ryan brings a rare blend of media strategy, leadership storytelling, and deep understanding of veterinary culture. As the Founder and Director of Athletic Conceptual Training (ACT), he has built a platform that bridges athletics, culture, and veterinary medicine, centering credibility, intention, and authentic representation.

Ryan is an official partner of the National Association for Black Veterinarians (NABV) and has worked closely with veterinary hospitals and organizations including TruVet Emergency & Specialty Hospital and Pawsibilities Vet Med to name a few, supporting initiatives focused on representation, wellness, and professional growth across the profession.

With a background spanning veterinary operations, media production, and brand strategy, Ryan doesn’t approach media as noise, he approaches it as infrastructure. His work focuses on building trust, amplifying the right voices, and creating systems that support long-term impact.

In his role with VIBE Vet, Ryan will oversee our media and social strategy, external messaging, and strategic social partnerships, helping shape a cohesive narrative for the organization as we continue to grow. His leadership will be key in ensuring our message remains aligned with our values: governance, transparency, inclusion, and community.

What drew Ryan to VIBE Vet is the same thing that drives our work every day, a commitment to creating a trustworthy, inclusive home for veterinary professionals, particularly technicians, at a moment when the profession is calling for clarity, leadership, and representation that actually reflects reality.

We couldn’t be more excited to have Ryan helping shape VIBE Vet’s voice during this critical chapter.
