What an amazing evening of **growing, learning, and building self-sufficiency!
We had such a great time hosting **“You Gon’ Learn: How to Grow Food for Your Family”** at Messiah’s Market Wholistic Center as part of **Councilwoman Shané Darby’s Self-Sufficiency Series**.
Families got their hands in the soil, learned practical ways to grow fresh food at home, asked questions, and left with resources, hands-on experience, and the confidence to **GROW!**
A huge THANK YOU to **Councilwoman Shané Darby** for creating and investing in programming that gives families tangible skills they can use at home and in their communities, and to **Nemours** for helping make this experience possible.
Special thanks to **Community Garden Liaison Felicia Davis** for her support and partnership, and to my **fellow Delaware Master Gardener, Sharon**, for sharing her knowledge, experience, and time with our families.
It truly takes community to grow community!
And, of course, thank you to every family who showed up ready to learn, get their hands dirty, and try something new.
At Messiah’s Market and Resilient Blooms, we believe food self-sufficiency starts with showing people that you don't need acres of land to grow something. **A container, some soil, a seed, and a little knowledge can be the beginning.** 🌱
We’re grateful to have been part of this series and even more excited about what happens when families take that knowledge home and keep growing.
Here are a few moments from the workshop!
