RESPONSIBLE LEADERSHIP MEANS PLANNING FOR THE FUTURE.

This week, Pierce for County Commissioner and the New Hanover County Commissioners voted to place a school bond referendum on the 2026 ballot, giving voters the opportunity to decide on long-term investments in our schools and community.

Strong communities require more than just keeping taxes low—they require thoughtful planning, responsible budgeting, and investments that benefit future generations.

The New Hanover County Commissioners have emphasized fiscal responsibility while continuing to focus on the infrastructure and services our growing community needs.

By allowing residents to make the final decision at the ballot box, county leaders are ensuring that taxpayers have a direct voice in the future of our schools and our community.

Parents, we can take advice, but ultimately you are "the EXPERT."

No one cares more or has the best interest of your child in mind than you.

When you hear an activist. educator or politician say, "Trust the experts," that is the very moment you need to question everything even more closely.

You are not only being manipulated and condescended, you are being INSULTED.

We hear this quite often when talking about curriculum or reading material for children. "Trust the 'expert'" who has a completely different worldview than you as well as a possible agenda?

Hard pass!

IS NEW HANOVER COUNTY BECOMING THE NEXT MECKLENBURG COUNTY?
In recent months, several high-level City of Wilmington hires have come from Mecklenburg County.

The issue isn't where these individuals came from.

The issue is whether Wilmington's leadership is importing the same policies and priorities that have transformed Charlotte and Mecklenburg County over the past decade.

Many residents in Mecklenburg County have watched as:

✔ Housing costs skyrocketed
✔ Traffic congestion worsened
✔ Affordability declined
✔ Public safety concerns grew

Public safety matters.

The tragic murder of 23-year-old Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska aboard Charlotte's light rail system became a national story and raised serious questions about public safety, repeat offenders, and leadership priorities.

Wilmington is special because of its quality of life, strong neighborhoods, coastal character, and sense of community.

Growth is inevitable.

But losing what makes Wilmington unique is not.

We need leaders like LeAnn Pierce for County Commissioner who are focused on protecting affordability, supporting public safety, and preserving the values that make Wilmington a great place to live, work, and raise a family.

Serving on the Board of Education is a serious public responsibility. School board members oversee hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars, make decisions affecting thousands of students and employees, and help shape the future of our community.

That's why requiring background checks for ALL school board members is a commonsense measure that promotes transparency, accountability, and public trust.

In light of the concerns and controversies we've seen involving candidates and public officials in recent years, voters deserve confidence that those seeking these important leadership positions have undergone appropriate screening.

The contrast is becoming increasingly clear across America.
In many large cities, residents face higher taxes, rising costs, and growing government spending.

Meanwhile, LeAnn Pierce for County Commissioner and the New Hanover County's Conservative-led Board of Commissioners recently voted against a county tax increase while continuing to support public safety, infrastructure, and essential services.

That's the difference between growing government and responsible government.

One asks taxpayers for more.

The other respects the taxpayers who make our community strong.
