Learning doesn't stop when school lets out.

Research shows that students who stay engaged in educational and enrichment activities during the summer are better prepared to return to school with stronger academic and social skills. Moments like these help keep curiosity alive, build confidence, and create opportunities for young people to grow beyond the classroom.

At The Warehouse, we're committed to making every season a season of learning.

How are you helping a young person stay engaged this summer?

"The internship you didn't get. The opportunity that passed you by. The interview that didn't go as planned."

In this clip, Laura Abbott, Chief Financial Officer at REACH Riverside, shares a powerful reminder that career growth is not always a straight path.

What feels like rejection today may actually be redirection toward the skills, experiences, and opportunities meant for you.

Every setback carries a lesson. The key is being willing to learn, adapt, and keep moving forward. Often, the moments that challenge us most become the moments that shape our future.

What is one career setback that ultimately led you to something better? Let us know in the comments.

Progress starts with people coming to the table.

When community leaders, partners, and advocates gather to share ideas, powerful things can happen.

Every conversation helps shape a stronger future and creates new opportunities for the people and neighborhoods we serve.

“It takes a village.” A phrase our CEO says often, and one we live out every single day.

Behind every program, every family served, every milestone reached, and every moment of impact is a team of dedicated individuals committed to showing up for this community.

Different backgrounds. Different gifts. One shared mission.

Because real change does not happen alone. It takes a village, and we are proud to WRK together to build stronger futures for Riverside and beyond.

When people see a building, we see possibility.

Today, we are proud to celebrate Kingswood Community Center being named the 2026 Metropolitan QLICI of the Year by the Novogradac Journal of Tax Credits Community Development Awards.

Earlier today in Washington, D.C., WRK Group CEO Logan Herring and Chief Community Investment Officer Dave Ford proudly accepted the award on behalf of the organization, our partners, and the Wilmington community.

This national recognition honors investments that create opportunity and strengthen communities where they are needed most.

For us, this recognition is not about bricks and mortar. It is about creating spaces where children learn, families access care, seniors connect, and residents have the resources they need to thrive.

For decades, Kingswood has been a trusted community anchor in Wilmington. This award reflects a shared commitment to investing in people, expanding opportunity, and building a stronger future for our city.

We are grateful to the partners, supporters, team members, residents, and community stakeholders who have helped bring this vision to life.

This recognition belongs to all of us.

This is Wilmington's win!

The future of our communities depends on the leaders we invest in today.

We were honored to welcome DSU students for a tour of Imani Village, creating space for learning, connection, and a firsthand look at what intentional community development looks like. When college students are given opportunities to see impact up close, pathways are created, ideas are sparked, and future changemakers begin to rise.

Creating pathways starts with all of us.

How are you helping create opportunities or open doors for the next generation?

Under clear skies and bright sunshine, it was the perfect day to look ahead.

Today, Jennifer Schwartz, incoming President and CEO of ChristianaCare, walked through the spaces where the future of Riverside is being built, from Kingswood Community Center and The Warehouse to the new Kingswood Community Center taking shape right before our eyes.

Soon, residents won't have to travel far to access care. Through ChristianaCare's presence in the new Jimmy Jenkins Center, seniors will have access to specialized services designed to help them age with dignity, stay connected, and live healthier lives.

Standing in front of a building still under construction, it was a powerful reminder that we are not just creating new spaces. We are creating access. Access to opportunity. Access to support. Access to healthier futures.

Thank you, Jennifer, for taking the time to visit, learn, and invest in the vision of what is possible for Riverside.

The walls are still going up, but the impact is already taking shape.

Community transformation does not happen alone, it happens because people choose to show up.

Today’s Tea & Tenacity event was beyond the flavors it brought. The women of the WRK Group came together for networking, professional development, and, of course, Sisterhood. From panel discussions on elevating in career fields, to “Spilling the TEA” and getting to know one another on a deeper level.

What was once impacted by years of disinvestment is now becoming a reflection of what is possible when people are seen, voices matter, and community is placed at the center.

Because true revitalization is not just about buildings, it is about restoring hope, protecting families, and creating pathways for generations to thrive.
