How do we attract and keep excellent doctors in southeastern North Carolina?

NCDHHS Secretary Dr. Dev Sangvai explored that question and more at a roundtable discussion hosted by Longleaf Health with the Dawson Med team in Wilmington on Monday. Physicians, PAs and NPs based in the surrounding area shared their insights on recruiting and retaining the next generation of primary care providers, strengthening rural training pipelines, and keeping independent practices strong for the communities that depend on them.

Independent primary care is central to creating healthier communities across our state. At Dawson Med, we saw a model built around physician-led, locally-rooted care that keeps independent practices strong and thriving together.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to Voyce Bistro for warmly welcoming the Wilmington Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. and providing the perfect setting for our Retreat Kickoff Sisterhood Dinner!

From the wonderful hospitality to the delicious food and beautiful atmosphere, our evening was filled with laughter, connection, and the joy of simply spending time together as sisters. 💕

It was the perfect way to kick off our retreat and set the tone for a year centered on sisterhood, leadership, service, and growing together.

Jack and Jill of America - Mid-Atlantic Region Regional Teen Treasurer, Amir Johnson, spent part the morning delivering meals through the Meals on Wheels for the Wilmington Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. Teen Chapter.

One meal, one smile, one visit at a time, he is learning that making a difference isn’t always about grand gestures, it’s about showing up consistently for others.

Thank you to Meals on Wheels for the incredible work you do each day and for allowing our chapter to be a part of your mission.
