Jack and Jill of America - Wilmington, NC Chapter The Wilmington, NC chapter is in the Mid-Atlantic region of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. It was established in 1954. Jack & Jill of America, Inc.

was founded January 24, 1938 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from a meeting of 20 mothers by the leadership of Marion Stubbs Thomas with the idea of bringing together children in a social and cultural environment. In 1964, as more groups became active, bylaws were drawn up and incorporated under the laws of Delaware. The organization was a nonprofit family organization by mothers of children between the ages of 2 and 19 holding membership. Jack & Jill celebrated its 50th Golden Anniversary in January 1988. The organization continues on, dedicating its resources to improving the quality of life, particularly African-American children. Today, Jack and Jill of America, Inc. has a membership base of over 9,500 families and it is the oldest and largest African American family organization in the United States. Jack and Jill of America, Inc. is committed to ensuring that all children have the same opportunities in life.

The Wilmington Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. proudly congratulates our very own previous Teen Chapter President and current Mid-Atlantic Region Regional Teen Treasurer, Amir Johnson, on being crowned 2026 Homecoming King at John T. Hoggard High School on Friday! 👑🎉

Amir continues to exemplify leadership, excellence, and dedication both within Jack and Jill and throughout his school community.

We are incredibly proud of his accomplishments and excited to celebrate this special moment with him!

The Wilmington Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. continues to put service into action through our support of Meals on Wheels! 🥗🚗

Our families are proud to give their time to help deliver meals and a little extra joy to members of our community. Each delivery is a reminder that even small acts of kindness can make a meaningful difference. 💕

Twenty-five years later, we pause to remember.

Today, we honor the 2,977 lives lost on September 11, 2001. We hold their families, survivors and all whose lives were forever changed in our hearts. We also remember the first responders and ordinary people who served others with extraordinary courage and selflessness in the midst of tragedy.

Many of our children know September 11 not through memory, but through history. As we share its lessons with the next generation, may we preserve the stories of those we lost and the humanity shown during a time of profound sorrow.

We remember with reverence, compassion, and gratitude.

A huge thank you to our amazing community, Jack and Jill mothers, families, friends, and supporters who came out for our 1st Annual Fundraiser Night at Buffalo Wild Wings! 🍗🎉

Your support means so much to the Wilmington Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. and helps us continue creating meaningful opportunities and experiences for our children and families. We truly appreciate everyone who showed up, shared the event, and supported our chapter! 💙
