Black mothers should be able to walk into any hospital in Delaware and know their Doula can be right there with them.
Where you give birth shouldn’t determine how much support you get.
Doulas advocate, educate, comfort, and make sure Black mothers are heard and respected. But in Delaware, access can look very different depending on the hospital.
Black families need to know what they’re walking into before it’s time to give birth.
The Delaware Black Reproductive Justice Coalition looked at Doula access across Delaware hospitals - what’s working, where barriers still exist, and what needs to change.
