What a week and weekend so far! From preventative care to emergency care, we have spent a large amount on the kittens under our care! Nearly $3,000 so far 🙀 Swipe to see where exactly all these costs went towards ⬅️
We are putting together a fundraising campaign for our recent expenses. Please, if you can make any size donation, we would wholeheartedly appreciate it. 🩷 You can donate directly through the fundraiser on this post, our zelle or paypal: [email protected], or by visiting our website gatoscallejeros.org/donate! (All easy links can be found in our bio)✨
Kittens Beacon, Bishop, Cardinal, Priest, and Shepherd had physical exams, their first vaccine, and flea treatment. They are currently in foster care with a dear friend of ours until they can head over to their rescue towards the end of May. We had a f***l sent out for previously not named, Draco, the siamese kitten! Our amazing friend took him in this weekend. Follow them to see more of Draco. 🎉
And the one and only, little Lucifer, had us on a rollercoaster this week. Long story short, Lucy was in terrible shape when we picked her up Thursday morning. Our veterinarian recommended for us to immediately take her over to the ER, so we did. Her eyes were crusted shut, filled with pus, and her temperature was so low that it could not be read. We thought we were losing her. But she held on. After speaking with the ER veterinarian, we agreed to have Lucy hospitalized for 24 hours to see if she and her glucose levels could improve. When we spoke to the veterinarian on Friday morning, she gave us hope. Lucy was up and exploring, trying to eat on her own, and her body temperature was back within normal range. We had her discharged Friday evening at 6pm and continue close monitoring to ensure her wellbeing. We are syringe feeding her every 2-3 hours, administering her take-home medications, keeping her warm, and charting her weight, food intake, and litter habits. It is a lot of work, but it is all worth it for little Lucy. We have shared her entire invoice from the hospitalization in hopes to fundraise for it. We will continue to share updates on Lucy and the five Moo-Moo kittens.
