Over the past 24 hours, both VEX Robotics and the Robotics Education & Competition Foundation have released public announcements regarding significant changes to the long-standing relationship between their organizations and the structure of what has historically been known as the VEX Robotics Competition.
At this time, there is clearly an underlying dispute between the organizations that BrandywineBOTS is not directly involved in and is not currently privy to in full detail. Very limited factual information has been publicly shared by either party so far.
For those following discussions on the VEX Forum, Discord servers, Reddit, Facebook groups, or other social media outlets, we encourage everyone to keep an open mind and avoid drawing conclusions until more verified information becomes available. The overwhelming majority of information currently circulating online is speculation, assumptions, or unofficial interpretation.
Please stay calm, stay respectful, and avoid sharing rumors, โbest guesses,โ or unverified claims regarding what may happen next.
The BrandywineBOTS leadership team is actively engaged with leadership contacts connected to both VEX and RECF. We are committed to gathering accurate information, understanding any potential impacts to our students and teams, and carefully evaluating any changes before making decisions or sharing further details.
What we are confident about is this: the upcoming BrandywineBOTS robotics season will continue. There may ultimately be changes to how certain aspects of competitions, events, or organizational structures operate, but competitive robotics opportunities for students are not disappearing.
As we receive confirmed factual information, we will continue to communicate transparently with our families and teams.
Thank you for your patience, professionalism, and support as we navigate this evolving situation together.
