đź–¤ This was for you, Marva.
On February 26, we didn’t just host a mock trial — we carried your legacy forward.
You believed in this work before many others did.
You believed in our children — in their voices, their brilliance, and their right to be seen and heard. Because of you, The Legal Kid Foundation grew, reached further, and changed more lives.
And on this day, we saw it.
Students from across Wake County stood in a courtroom — confident, prepared, and unafraid to use their voice. Not just learning the law… but living it.
This moment was made possible in partnership with Campbell Law BLSA, the Campbell Law Educational Pro Bono Clinic, LexisNexis African Ancestry Network, and the Honorable Judge David Baker, Sr. — a community coming together to pour into the next generation, just like you always did.
Your impact was in every voice that spoke.
In every student who stood a little taller.
In every moment of courage we witnessed.
đź–¤ We felt you in that room.
⚖️ And we will continue this work in your honor. Always.

History has a new name, and it is Judge La Tasha C. Williams. What a powerful and inspiring milestone to celebrate the first Black woman to serve as Judge in Dauphin County. My heart is filled with pride for my sister and dear friend as she steps into this well-earned role.

This achievement is the result of years of perseverance, purpose, and an unshakable commitment to justice. You have always led with integrity, courage, and grace, and now that same spirit will guide you from the bench. The doors you have opened and the lives you will impact extend far beyond this moment.

Congratulations, The Honorable La Tasha C. Williams. Your legacy is already taking shape, and generations will benefit from the path you have paved. 👏🏾👩🏾‍⚖️⚖️✨
