Happy 251st Birthday, U.S. Navy! 🇺🇸⚓
Today, Blue Star Mothers of America proudly celebrates 251 years of the United States Navy!
On October 13, 1775, the Continental Congress authorized the creation of a naval force, beginning a legacy of service that continues today.
For more than two and a half centuries, generations of Sailors have answered the call to serve, protecting our nation and defending freedom across the seas. Their courage, dedication, and sacrifice are woven into the history of our country.
To every Sailor serving today, every Navy veteran who served before them, and the families who proudly stand behind them, we thank you. 💙
And to our Blue Star Mothers with sons and daughters serving in the United States Navy, today we celebrate your Sailors with you! ⚓❤️🤍💙

Columbus Day | Indigenous Peoples’ Day 🇺🇸
Today offers an opportunity to reflect on the many stories, cultures, journeys, and experiences that have shaped our nation.
As our country observes Columbus Day, we recognize its place in American history and the generations of Italian Americans who have celebrated Christopher Columbus as a symbol of their heritage and contributions to our nation.
Today is also observed by many communities as Indigenous Peoples’ Day, honoring the history, cultures, traditions, resilience, and contributions of Native peoples who have called this land home for generations.
At Blue Star Mothers of America, we believe there is value in learning about the many chapters of our nation’s history and recognizing the people and communities whose stories are part of the American experience.
May today encourage reflection, understanding, and respect as we continue learning from our past and honoring the diverse people who have helped shape our country. ❤️🤍💙

🇺🇸 General Pulaski Memorial Day 🇵🇱
Today, Blue Star Mothers of America remembers Brigadier General Casimir Pulaski, a Polish patriot who crossed an ocean to fight for the cause of American independence.
Pulaski joined the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War and distinguished himself at the Battle of Brandywine, where his cavalry actions helped protect General George Washington’s retreating forces. He later organized Pulaski’s Legion and became remembered as the “Father of the American Cavalry.”
On October 9, 1779, Pulaski was mortally wounded while leading a cavalry charge during the Siege of Savannah. He died from his wounds on October 11, 1779, the date we commemorate each year as General Pulaski Memorial Day.
His story is a powerful reminder that America’s fight for freedom was strengthened by people willing to sacrifice greatly for the ideals of liberty and independence.
Today, we honor General Pulaski’s courage, service, and sacrifice and remember the lasting legacy he left to our nation. ❤️🤍💙
May we always remember those who have answered the call to defend freedom.

Serving Veterans | Our Commitment Continues 💙🇺🇸
Their service may have ended, but our gratitude never should.
Every veteran carries a story of service, sacrifice, courage, and commitment. They answered the call for our nation, spent time away from those they loved, and gave a part of themselves in service to something greater.
Today is also World Mental Health Day, an important reminder that caring for our veterans means supporting the whole person. Some wounds are visible. Others are carried quietly. Taking the time to listen, check in, offer support, and remind someone that they matter can make a meaningful difference.
At Blue Star Mothers of America, supporting our veterans remains an important part of our mission. Through visits, veteran care packages, volunteer service, community programs, and simple acts of kindness, we have the opportunity to remind our veterans that they are seen, valued, remembered, and never alone. 💙
Our responsibility to honor those who served does not end with a ceremony or a single day on the calendar. It continues throughout the year.
To every veteran who has worn the uniform, thank you for your service and sacrifice. Today and every day, may we continue showing our gratitude through our actions. 🇺🇸⭐

We have officially closed on a property in Mankato, Minnesota which will provide a serene, natural sanctuary with views of the Minnesota River for the future residents of our women’s home.

This home will be America’s first sober home dedicated specifically to women Veterans facing PTSD, trauma, and addiction.

We invite you to be a part of building this history making home for our women Veterans. Your financial support will help create this safe haven for our heroes.

RED FRIDAY | Remember Everyone Deployed 🇺🇸❤️
Every Friday, we wear red for those who cannot yet be home.
Across the world, our service members are standing watch, completing their missions, and sacrificing time with the people they love. Back home, their families are counting the days, waiting for the next call, and holding onto the hope of a safe return.
RED Friday is more than wearing a color. It is a promise to remember.
Remember the service members spending birthdays and holidays far from home. Remember the families waiting for them. Remember the sacrifices being made every single day in service to our nation.
Today, Blue Star Mothers of America proudly wears RED.
