🇺🇸 Happy 4th of July from Heart & Hammer TX! 🇺🇸

Today we celebrate the freedom we enjoy and honor the brave men and women who have fought to protect it.

As we spend time with family and friends, we’re reminded that one of the best ways to show our gratitude is by serving those who served us.

Our next project is in Angleton, where we’ll be helping a disabled veteran with much-needed home repairs. We’d love for you to join us! Whether you have construction experience or simply want to lend a helping hand, your time can make a real difference.

Together, we can build stronger homes, stronger communities, and show our veterans they’re not forgotten.

🇺🇸 HONORING A HERO THROUGH SERVICE 🇺🇸

Meet Lee Scott Hethcock III.

At 79 years old, Lee is a veteran who served as an Honor Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in the Philippines. Pictured in this photograph, he is being recognized by Vice President Hubert Humphrey for his service to our nation.

Today, this American hero and his wife are living on a fixed income in a home that has become unsafe.

Due to a previous leak, the bathroom floor is weakened and in need of major repairs. Lee also suffers from severe nerve damage in his feet and legs and has no feeling below his ankles. Every day, he must step over a large bathtub to bathe, creating a serious risk of a life-changing fall.

From July 12-19, Heart & Hammer TX will be traveling to Angleton, Texas, to help restore safety, dignity, and independence for this deserving veteran and his wife.

Our project will include:
🔨 Replacing damaged subfloor
🔨 Installing new flooring
🔨 Converting the existing tub into a safer walk-in shower
🔨 Installing grab bars and accessibility features

Because this project is over 2½ hours from our home base, we need the community’s help to make it happen.

We are currently seeking:
❤️ Financial donations
🔨 Skilled and unskilled volunteers
🏠 Housing accommodations for volunteers
🧱 Material donations and discounts

As always, Heart & Hammer TX is 100% volunteer-driven. I do not take a salary, and donations go directly toward helping the families we serve.

This year, because of your support, we’ve been able to stand beside families in some of their hardest moments — providing hope, resources, encouragement, and real help when it was needed most. From supporting local families in crisis to creating opportunities for healing, stability, and community, the impact has been incredible… and we’re just getting started.

Now we’re asking our community to help us take that impact even further.

Our sweet ramp kiddo needs us again. A large hole has formed in their driveway, and emergency access is now a real concern, an ambulance recently struggled getting in.

The materials are ready. We just need a few willing hands to donate a half day of labor to fix it.
